Supporting health insurance premiums for ethnic minorities is a policy agreed upon by the People's Council of Bac Lieu province at a thematic meeting held on June 12.
Specifically, in addition to 70% of the support from the Central Government, Bac Lieu province will spend from the budget to support the remaining 30% of the contribution for ethnic minorities living in communes in region II (14 communes, with 80 hamlets) and region III (11 communes, with 41 hamlets).
In which, Hoa Binh district: 4 communes, Dong Hai district: 4 communes, Phuoc Long district: 2 communes, Hong Dan district: 6 communes, Vinh Loi district: 5 communes, Gia Rai town: 4 communes.
Support period is 28 months, from July 1, 2024 to October 31, 2026.
According to statistics, Bac Lieu province has 32,541 people eligible for this policy, with an estimated expenditure of about 22 billion VND.
Ms. Tran Thi Huynh Dao, Head of the Culture - Social Committee (People's Council of Bac Lieu province), said that many ethnic minorities in the province have difficult economic conditions.
The province supports 30% of health insurance premiums for these subjects to create conditions for them to receive better health care, minimize risks when sick, ill, and feel secure in doing business and stabilizing their lives.
