According to the meteorological agency, a weak cold air mass is moving south from the North.

Around the morning of May 1, this cold air mass will affect the Northeast, then some places in the Northwest, Thanh Hoa - Nghe An . From the morning and May 1, the wind will change to the northeast inland at level 2-3.

From May 1, the heat wave in the North, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An will end and gradually cool down in the Quang Binh - Quang Tri area.

The influence of weak cold air combined with wind convergence above 1,500m caused scattered showers and thunderstorms in the North, Thanh Hoa - Nghe An area, with locally heavy rain with rainfall from 15-30mm, in some places over 50mm.

Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rains may cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.

At sea, from early morning and May 1, the northern part of the Gulf of Tonkin will have strong northeast winds of level 4-5, with showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes and strong gusts of level 6-7.
