According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 6:00 p.m. on October 26, the center of storm No. 6 (storm Tra Mi) was at about 17 degrees North latitude; 110.9 degrees East longitude, about 307km East Northeast of Da Nang.
The strongest wind is level 11 (103-117km/h), gusting to level 14. It is forecasted that in the next 3 hours, the storm will move west at a speed of about 20-25km/h.
At 4:00 p.m. on October 27, the storm moved in a West-Southwest direction, at about 15km/h, in the coastal waters of the Central Central provinces, the storm was at level 9, gusting to level 11. The affected areas included the western part of the North East Sea (including the Hoang Sa archipelago), the Central Central sea; the mainland coastal areas of Quang Tri - Quang Nam.
Due to the influence of storm No. 6, from the evening and night of October 26 to the night of October 28, in the Quang Binh - Quang Ngai area, there will be heavy to very heavy rain with total rainfall ranging from 300-500mm, locally over 700mm. Warning of the risk of localized heavy rain (>100mm/3 hours).
Ha Tinh, Binh Dinh and the Northern Central Highlands have heavy rain, locally very heavy rain with total rainfall ranging from 100-200mm, in some places over 300mm.
In addition, on October 27, a cold air mass intensified and spread to the North. Temperatures across the North decreased, with the most significant decrease in some provinces and cities in the Northeast and the Northern Delta.
