The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has issued a bulletin on strengthening cold air and a weather forecast for the next 10 days, from the night of January 24 to February 3, for Hanoi and the whole country.
Accordingly, on the afternoon of January 24, cold air affected some places in the South Central region; some places in the northern mountainous areas had frost. The northern area of the East Sea had strong northeast winds of level 7, some places level 8.

It is forecasted that on the night of January 24, strong cold air will continue to affect some other places in the South Central region. Northeast wind inland will be strong at level 3, coastal areas at level 4-5, gusting at level 7-8.
On the night of January 24 and 25, the North and North Central regions will experience severe cold, the Central Central region will experience cold, and some places in the North will experience severe cold. During this cold air mass, the lowest temperature in the North will generally be 8-10 degrees Celsius, in the mountainous areas of the North from 3-6 degrees Celsius, in the high mountains below 0 degrees Celsius, in the North Central region from 9-11 degrees Celsius, in the North Central region from 12-15 degrees Celsius, in the South from 16-19 degrees Celsius.
The meteorological agency warned that the widespread cold spell in the North and North Central regions could last until around January 29. During this widespread cold spell, snow and ice are likely to occur in mountainous areas.
In addition, on the night of January 24, Thua Thien Hue to Khanh Hoa will have rain, showers, locally heavy rain and thunderstorms. Thunderstorms may include tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
