Phu Tho community volunteer project participates in national camp

"Charity Kitchen 19" founded by Mr. Han Quang Du (born in 1990, residing in Ban Nguyen commune, Lam Thao district) was selected by the Phu Tho Provincial Red Cross Society as a community volunteer project representing the emulation cluster of 7 Northern Midlands and Mountainous provinces to debate at the 6th National Red Cross Youth and Volunteer Camp held in Khanh Hoa province from August 13-15, 2024.

The project "Charity Kitchen 19" was implemented by Mr. Han Quang Du and his family and started operating on January 31, 2021. Currently, every day, the kitchen provides more than 100 breakfasts and about 200 lunches for patients and their relatives in difficult circumstances being treated at Phu Tho General Hospital. In addition to providing free meals on site, the project also sponsors the Department of Nutrition, Provincial General Hospital and supports patients in dialysis villages in the surrounding area with a total annual value of over 200 million VND. The total value of the Kitchen's humanitarian activities is an average of 600 million VND per year, serving over 100,000 beneficiaries.

“Introducing creative, innovative and influential youth and Red Cross volunteer models” is one of the important contents of the 6th National Youth and Red Cross Volunteer Camp. The selection of the “Charity Kitchen 19” project to represent the Northern Midlands and Mountains Emulation Cluster to participate in the debate at the camp shows recognition and support for charity and humanitarian projects founded by the people with the hope of replicating many models similar to “Charity Kitchen 19” to help more patients in difficult circumstances in the province and across the country.
