Smart City Project announces architectural design competition for 108-storey Tower

North Hanoi Smart City Development Investment Joint Stock Company (NHSC), a joint venture between BRG Group (Vietnam) and Sumitomo Group (Japan), in collaboration with Architecture Magazine - Vietnam Association of Architects, organized the Competition for Architectural Design of the Financial, Commercial, Mixed-Use Center - 108-storey Tower at the Smart City project, Dong Anh district, Hanoi city.

The competition aims to find creative and unique design ideas that meet the requirements of synchronization and modern urban development, applying smart features to create new landmark projects for the capital Hanoi, for Vietnam and for the whole region.

Perspective of the North Hanoi Smart City project

The design concept will emphasize the commercial, service, and cultural systems associated with urban railway stations, combining traffic hub construction areas with open spaces, squares, etc. In addition, the project needs to ensure fire prevention and fighting, in harmony with cultural works, symbols, street art, etc., creating a focal point space in the urban area, worthy of being a symbol for the development era of Dong Anh district, of Hanoi capital and of Vietnam.

The 108-storey Tower is expected to become one of the tallest buildings in Southeast Asia, with a construction area of over 30.5 thousand m2 and a total floor area of over 320 thousand m2. It is a modern, international-scale super complex at the gateway connecting Noi Bai International Airport and Hanoi city with many functions such as offices, commerce, hotels, tourism... becoming a highlight of the urban landscape, contributing to promoting the economy and opening up many opportunities to attract investment and becoming a symbol of the development of Hanoi and Vietnam.

Perspective of the North Hanoi Smart City project

The competition will have the participation of the world's leading architectural design consulting groups from the United States, the United Kingdom... These are design groups that have contributed to creating towers over 80 floors high and are in the Top 20 tallest towers in the world today, works that have been and are considered new wonders of the world and symbols of an entire country and territory.

The selection committee includes leading international and Vietnamese leaders and experts from the Ministry of Construction, Hanoi City, Associations and Institutes operating in the fields of construction, urban planning and architecture in Vietnam. The committee will have to work hard to choose the best option of a new symbol for the development of this most dynamic, innovative and modern area of Hanoi City.

North Hanoi Smart City located in Dong Anh district, Hanoi City, with a scale of 272 hectares and a total investment of 4.2 billion USD, invested by NHSC Company, is one of the projects receiving special attention from the governments of Vietnam and Japan.

Located at the gateway connecting Noi Bai International Airport and the center of Hanoi City, this is a key project of the planning of both sides of Nhat Tan - Noi Bai route, becoming a new symbol of the Capital, helping people access the most advanced technology in the world, thereby accelerating the socio-economic development of the Capital, creating a sustainable city, bringing a comfortable and safe living environment.

The Organizing Committee began accepting applications on February 29 and is expected to announce the winning plan by the end of May 2024.
