The project to upgrade and expand Hung Vuong Street with a total investment of 450 billion VND was supposed to start construction in 2023. However, due to difficulties in investment capital, the province decided to adjust the project to the investment phase of 2026 - 2030.

As one of the two largest and most important roads running along the length of Tam Ky urban area, Hung Vuong Street is considered the face of the provincial capital. Therefore, the implementation of this project will contribute to the beautification as well as solving the problem of urban flooding during the rainy season.

The story of upgrading Hung Vuong Street was raised in 2019, reflected in Resolution No. 09 (July 12, 2019) of the Provincial People's Council. At that time, the total investment of the project was 150 billion VND, implemented in the period of 2019 - 2023. However, for many different reasons, the project was not implemented as planned.

By 2022, the project was restarted and the Provincial People's Council issued a resolution to adjust the project to upgrade and expand Hung Vuong Street, and the total investment increased to 450 billion VND.

With a length of 5.6km, expanding each side by 1 lane, narrowing the median strip from 13m to 7m, completing the infrastructure system..., the project hopes to overcome the flooding situation on the route, creating urban beauty. But then, once again the project missed the deadline...

At the meetings to discuss the development of the 2025 public investment plan and work with Tam Ky City, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung emphasized the urgent need for the Hung Vuong Road project, requesting that relevant agencies proactively seek allocation sources to start construction on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Quang Nam Province.

At the working session with the Standing Committee of Tam Ky City Party Committee in September, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee also concluded that the Provincial People's Committee is preparing investment procedures to upgrade and expand Hung Vuong Street, organizing the groundbreaking ceremony on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Quang Nam Province and welcoming the 23rd Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

In addition, focus on reviewing and assessing the urgency and priority of key projects and works of Tam Ky City; study and balance resources to adjust and supplement the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021 - 2025 when resources appear and propose to include in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026 - 2030 for anti-erosion embankment projects combined with landscape roads along Tam Ky river, landscape park along Ban Thach river, underground drainage route on Trung Nu Vuong street.

Thus, the project to upgrade and expand Hung Vuong Street has resumed and will be started in 2025 as planned. Hopefully, in the near future (project implementation time is planned until 2027), the busiest and most beautiful street in Tam Ky will be completed, opening up a spacious urban space, meeting travel needs and contributing to solving the city's flooding problem.
