The book School Library Handbook - Improving Learning Ability through Reading Activities provides examples from many schools in Japan to demonstrate the close relationship between reading and improving learning ability, highlighting the role of libraries and human resources in charge of library activities.
Since its launch on October 6, the School Library Handbook crowdfunding project has attracted the attention of many education experts and the book-loving community.
After a sprint of more than 40 days, the project published 2,000 books and successfully donated 1,098 books to 239 libraries in many provinces and cities across the country.
Present at the closing event, Ms. Tong Lien Anh - Education Expert - said: "Currently, children are only exposed to everything through phone and computer screens more than touching and connecting with a book. This is a sad situation and can bring many consequences for the mental health of the young generation.
Reading has a direct impact on thinking, presentation and creativity. Motivation to learn is important in improving capacity and needs to be nurtured from books from an early age."
Through the event summarizing and launching the book School Library Handbook - Improving learning capacity through reading activities , the organizers hope to share and spread the reading culture and spirit of books closer to many generations of readers.
