A group of 5 students from the Vietnam University of Mining and Geology, including Nguyen Trung Hieu, Vo Dinh Trong, Nguyen Xuan Cong, Bui Duc Tung, and Dang Quanh Minh, guided by Dr. Tang Van Lam, was selected to display their project at this exhibition. The "Green concrete" project aims to manufacture a product that is a "green" concrete mixture completely without cement, pre-mixed, packaged in bags weighing 25 kg/bag. The compressive strength of this "green" concrete product has reached over 60MPa, and has attracted the attention and orders of many businesses . According to Dr. Tang Van Lam, who guided the group of students implementing the project, the most different point of the project compared to previous studies is that the "green" concrete without cement uses 1% aluminum oxide powder - Al2O3 combined with thermal power fly ash, finely ground blast furnace slag, and strong alkaline solution. The above combination aims to create more gels with adhesive properties, linking aggregate particles together to form a solid, high-strength concrete block, removing excess alkali in the concrete, reducing the phenomenon of moss and mold "growing hair" on the surface of the product after shaping and increasing the efficiency of using this product in construction works.
