On June 30, the Bien Hoa City Project Management Board (Dong Nai) said that the locality is upgrading and renovating the drainage system along Bui Trong Nghia Street (near Trang Dai intersection, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai).
A section of Bui Trong Nghia Street is implementing a flood prevention project.
The project to repair and renovate the drainage system along Bui Trong Nghia Street (Trang Dai, Bien Hoa) is invested by Bien Hoa Project Management Board.
In particular, a reinforced concrete ditch system will be built along both sides of the route to increase drainage capacity in the above area. The project has a final section connecting to Dong Khoi Street. The total investment cost of the project is nearly 14 billion VND from the Bien Hoa city budget.
Previously, Dong Nai also implemented a flood prevention project from Dong Khoi bridge extending through Trang Dai intersection to gas station 26 on Dong Khoi street with an investment cost of more than 23 billion VND.
This project was completed and put into use in early 2024. During the four rains this year, the above area did not experience flooding.
However, on May 31, a very heavy rain that lasted from afternoon until late at night caused this section of road to be severely flooded.
One of the causes of flooding is that water from Bui Trong Nghia Street, alleys, and surrounding residential areas that do not have a drainage system overflows, causing congestion and overload. Furthermore, garbage blocking the water intake also causes blockage of the manholes.
Flood treatment location is at Trang Dai intersection.
It is known that the intersection of Bui Trong Nghia Street and Dong Khoi Street at Trang Dai intersection has been a heavily flooded area in Dong Nai province for many years. Every time it rains heavily, people have to stay at some drainage culverts to collect trash and clear the drains.
