Up to now, the whole province has 110 communes recognized as meeting advanced new rural standards, 34 communes meeting model new rural standards, 4 districts: Dinh Quan, Thong Nhat, Cam My and Vinh Cuu have submitted dossiers to the Provincial People's Committee to request recognition as districts meeting advanced new rural standards in 2024. The above results all met and exceeded the set targets in 2024.

The challenge in building new rural areas in the 2021-2025 period is that the national criteria for new rural areas, advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas have many additional indicators and higher requirements, making implementation difficult. Meanwhile, the agricultural sector as well as other economic sectors are affected by common difficulties due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the general economic recession of the world.

Up to now, the rate of communes recognized as meeting new rural standards nationwide is only 77.4%; the rate of communes meeting advanced new rural standards is only 34.6% and the rate of model new rural communes is only 7.6%. The whole country has only 11 districts meeting advanced new rural standards (accounting for 5%).

Compared to the national average, Dong Nai continues to be at the top of the post-new rural construction when the rate of communes meeting advanced new rural standards in Dong Nai is 91.6%, the rate of model new rural communes is over 28%. Regarding advanced new rural districts, in 2023, Dong Nai will have one advanced new rural district recognized. In addition, Dong Nai is submitting to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for appraisal of 2 districts meeting advanced new rural standards; 2 districts are being reviewed and evaluated by departments and branches for their records meeting advanced new rural standards in 2024.

From the new rural construction movement, Dong Nai countryside has had comprehensive changes in all aspects, from traffic infrastructure to school system, national standard healthcare, and improved ecological environment.

At the same time, Dong Nai province aims to build new rural areas associated with the development of high-tech agriculture, organic agriculture associated with eco-tourism... Thanks to that, the average income of rural people is increased, contributing to the construction of new rural areas.

From the beginning of 2024, the agricultural sector of Dong Nai province has set a target of striving for a 3-5% growth in the agricultural, forestry and fishery GRDP. In particular, it focuses on implementing important breakthrough goals of the sector such as high-tech agriculture, organic agriculture, attracting investment in deep processing, etc.

Localities in Dong Nai province focus on building specialized areas for high-quality fruit trees. Up to now, the whole province has formed 127 concentrated agricultural production areas for the province's key agricultural products with a total area of ​​nearly 40.7 thousand hectares, of which 8 agricultural areas apply high technology with a scale of nearly 1.6 thousand hectares for rice, mango, grapefruit, durian products... The production areas have applied many scientific and technical advances in production such as: using high-yield, high-quality varieties; applying automatic and semi-automatic irrigation systems; using biological products to prevent pests; applying synchronous mechanization from land preparation to harvesting...

The province currently has 419 high-tech agricultural models; 8 high-tech agricultural production areas have been formed. The rate of trained workers in agricultural enterprises, agricultural cooperatives, and high-tech farms is nearly 92.7%. Dong Nai has more than 885.5 hectares of organic agricultural land, accounting for nearly 0.5% of the total agricultural production area. The province has also formed 15 organic agricultural production areas with a scale of 1,555 hectares; 9 models have achieved organic certification with a total area of ​​nearly 29 hectares; 107 organic agricultural production models.

The province's enterprises have actively participated in the global supply chain; linked with cooperatives and farmers in building growing area codes, helping to make products transparent and increasing the international market's trust in Vietnamese agricultural products.

Since the beginning of 2024, countries importing agricultural products from Dong Nai have granted 18 growing area codes and 7 packing facility codes for bananas and durians for export. Up to now, the whole province has 189 growing area codes with a scale of nearly 28,000 hectares and 93 packing facilities granted codes to serve exports to markets: China, the United States, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, etc.
