On March 27, Comrade Pham Van Hau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, had a working session with the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee on the results of border guard tasks in 2023 and directions and tasks in 2024. Attending the meeting were Comrade Lam Dong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee; Trinh Minh Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of relevant departments and branches.

In 2023, the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee has led and directed Party committees and commanders of agencies and units to successfully complete assigned political tasks. Notably, it has thoroughly grasped, concretized and strictly implemented resolutions, directives, orders and plans of the Party Committee, the Border Guard Command, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee on military and defense tasks and tasks of the Provincial Border Guard; strictly maintained combat readiness; improved the effectiveness of reconnaissance, drug prevention and control and all types of crimes; proactively grasped, researched and accurately assessed the situation, advised and closely coordinated with forces to resolve incidents, not to be passive or surprised, to maintain sovereignty, security and social order and safety in the province's maritime border area. Proactively advised and reported to the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to direct the implementation of the peak period against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing; Coordinate, review, manage human resources, ships and civil means participating in protecting sovereignty and sovereign rights of our country's sea areas according to Decree 30/2010/ND-CP, Decree 130/2015/ND-CP of the Government; perform well the work of natural disaster prevention, search and rescue... Thereby, promoting the combined strength in performing border defense tasks; sovereignty and security of the province's sea border areas are maintained and strengthened.

Regarding the tasks in 2024, the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee will continue to improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of Party committees and organizations at all levels in the Provincial Border Guard; focus on leading the successful implementation of the tasks of managing and protecting territorial sovereignty and border security, building a strong coastal border area of the province; lead the building of a comprehensively strong Provincial Border Guard, meeting the requirements of assigned tasks, firmly managing and protecting the sovereignty and security of the sea; participate in building the grassroots political system, developing the socio-economy in the coastal border area; manage, inspect, control, proactively prevent, detect, stop, and effectively combat the activities of hostile forces, all types of crimes, and violations of the law in the coastal border area of the province.

Speaking at the working session, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee to focus on leading, directing and implementing well the set contents and tasks. Pay attention to improving the quality of Party building and rectification work, preventing corruption and negativity, and improving the quality of grassroots party organizations and party members; prepare well in all aspects for the organization of Party Congresses at all levels in the Provincial Border Guard for the 2025-2030 term. Continue to improve the command staff, ensure material facilities, promote the core role of the Border Guard force in coordinating with coastal sectors and localities to propagate and mobilize people to actively participate in building a strong maritime border area; build and train a strong enough maritime militia force, widely deployed on all three coastal - onshore - offshore routes as a solid support for fishermen in developing the marine economy and participating in protecting sea and island sovereignty. Continue to closely and effectively coordinate with the Provincial Military Command and the Provincial Police in performing the task of protecting local security and maintaining social order in the province and neighboring areas; coordinate to promote the fight against crime; coordinate to grasp the situation, advise local Party committees and authorities to thoroughly resolve disputes and complaints arising among the people, not to let them become complicated or form hot spots in the coastal border area, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, strengthening national defense and security in the province.
