Iran is said to be preparing a proportionate response after Israel launched three waves of attacks on Tehran in the early morning of October 26.
Early on October 26, the Israeli military carried out airstrikes in the Iranian capital Tehran and the nearby city of Karaj. Israel claimed to have accurately attacked military targets in Iran in response to Iran's continuous attacks over the past several months.

Iran's Tasnim news agency quoted a source as saying the country was preparing to respond to Israel's actions. "There is no doubt that Israel will face a proportionate response for any action it takes," the source said.
Meanwhile, The Washington Post quoted a source briefed on Israel's military plans as saying that Tel Aviv's attack was expected to last for several hours and that among the targeted military sites were air defense systems and missile factories.

The extent of the damage in Iran is not yet known. State media reported that the civil aviation authority has suspended all flights until further notice.
Iran said its air defense systems successfully repelled the Israeli attack but that some sites suffered “limited damage.” Iran’s air defense said Israel attacked military targets in Tehran, Khuzestan and Ilam provinces.
The Israeli military has said that if Iran makes the mistake of initiating a new escalation, Tel Aviv will be forced to respond.
