In recent years, in addition to the task of managing and protecting the sovereignty and security of the maritime border area (MBA) in the area under its management, Vinh Hai Border Guard Station (BP) has also done a good job of mobilizing the masses through practical and effective models and activities.

In particular, over the past many school years, the accompanying programs "helping children go to school" undertaken by officers and soldiers of the station have contributed to "giving wings" to the dreams of going to school of many students in difficult circumstances, which have been recognized and highly appreciated by the local Party Committee and government. The solidarity between the army and people in the coastal border area has been increasingly strengthened and tightened.

Vinh Hai Border Post is located in Vinh Hy village, Vinh Hai commune (Ninh Hai), with the task of managing the border guard area of Vinh Hai and Cong Hai communes (Thuan Bac) with 14 villages, including 7 villages of Raglai ethnic people. Due to many economic difficulties, people's awareness of studying and career guidance is still limited, so the rate of students who miss school every other day or drop out of school is still high. Major Truong Anh Tuan, Political Commissar of Vinh Hai Border Post, said: With the motto "giving letters, transmitting hope", in 2016, the post implemented the program "Helping children go to school"; in 2019, continued to implement the model "Adopted children of the Border Post". In the 2022-2023 school year, the unit will implement the additional project "Army officers and soldiers help children go to school". In which, the funding source for the program "Helping children go to school" and "Adopted children of the Border Post" is contributed by officers and soldiers of the provincial Border Post; The project "Army officers and soldiers help children go to school" is implemented from the budget of the National Target Program on socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas, period 2021-2030, allocated to the Border Guard for implementation. In the process of implementing the programs and the project "Helping children go to school", Vinh Hai Border Guard Station has coordinated with two localities and schools to review and select Raglai ethnic students with especially difficult family circumstances, orphans; sent officers to meet with families to verify their circumstances; selected forms and measures of support to ensure practicality and effectiveness. Since its implementation, 41 children in Vinh Hai and Cong Hai communes have been supported by the station to go to school; the station is currently in charge of helping 20 children sponsored by the project and adopting 2 children, sponsoring 4 children with a support level of 500,000 VND/month.

Representatives of Vinh Hai Border Guard Station presented gifts to support disadvantaged students in Vinh Hai commune.

Recently, on the occasion of the opening of the new school year, the station also coordinated with local authorities and schools to organize meetings and give tuition fees to the children. Cao Thi Bien, an 8th grade student at Ngo Quyen Primary and Secondary School (Vinh Hai Commune), shared: This is the second school year that I have received uniforms, school supplies and scholarships from the uncles at Vinh Hai Border Guard Station. Meanwhile, Ms. Katơr Thị Chúc, who lives in Suoi Gieng Hamlet (Cong Hai Commune), confided that her son, Katơr Duy, a 2A student at Suoi Gieng Primary School, lost his father at a young age. Due to difficult family circumstances, Duy started school 1 year later than his peers. Now, thanks to participating in the project "Army officers help children go to school" of Vinh Hai Border Guard Station, my child has received a scholarship of 500,000 VND/month throughout the school years; in addition, he was given a bicycle to go to school and also regularly received attention, inquiries and encouragement from the station's officers. I am very grateful to the Party, the State, and the Border Guard and will try to overcome difficulties and send my children to school to learn!

The implementation of the companion program "helping children go to school" by Vinh Hai Border Post not only helps Raglai people in the coastal border area have conditions to send their children to school, improve their knowledge, and contribute to the development of the local economy, culture and society; but also aims to promote the effectiveness of mass mobilization work, which is identified as a key task and a basic measure to successfully carry out the task of Border Guard work, contributing to building the province's coastal border area increasingly stronger.
