The Vietnamese team will be picked up by a double-decker bus from Noi Bai airport to the center of Hanoi. On the afternoon of January 6, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is expected to welcome and congratulate the team on their ASEAN Cup victory.

The Vietnamese team will return home this afternoon (January 6) after defeating host Thailand 3-2 in the second leg of the 2024 ASEAN Cup final on the evening of January 5, thereby winning the championship with a final score of 5-3 after two matches. The flight carrying coach Kim Sang Sik and his team is expected to land at Noi Bai airport at 2:30 p.m. to be welcomed by leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of International Cooperation, the Department of Physical Training and Sports and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) at VIP Guest House A. After that, a double-decker bus will take the team from Noi Bai airport to the city center. An ambulance will enter the plane's elevator and take player Nguyen Xuan Son straight to the hospital. It is expected that at 6 p.m. the same day, the Vietnamese team will meet Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the Government headquarters.
According to the scheduled program, at the meeting, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan or VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu - Head of the Vietnamese team at the ASEAN Cup - will have a summary report on the preparation work and results of the Vietnamese team at the tournament. Coach Kim Sang Sik will have a speech sharing his feelings after having a wonderful journey with the Vietnamese team at the ASEAN Cup 2024, bringing great joy to Vietnamese fans.

It is expected that at the meeting, the Prime Minister will announce a number of rewards for the Vietnamese team for their Southeast Asian championship achievements.
