On the occasion of the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day June 21 (1925 - 2024), the People's Committee of Quang Tri province organized a meeting with veteran journalists, representatives of press agencies, provincial journalists, central press reporters, industry and provinces and cities in the province. On the occasion of the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2024), the Provincial People's Committee organized a meeting with veteran journalists, representatives of press agencies, provincial journalists, central press reporters, industry and provinces and cities in the province.

This is an opportunity for us to look back on the glorious history of revolutionary journalism, and at the same time acknowledge and honor the great contributions of journalists in the cause of building and developing our homeland and country.

We are proud to have a revolutionary press that was born and developed from the requirements of the great revolutionary cause of the nation under the leadership of the Party, founded and founded by President Ho Chi Minh .

Throughout the glorious 99-year history, the Vietnamese revolutionary press has always accompanied the nation, been a reliable and pioneering force of the Party and State, taking the lead on the ideological and cultural front, making important contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, and building the spiritual foundation of society.

In the development of the country, the Vietnamese revolutionary press has continuously developed comprehensively in nature, scale and position, and has affirmed itself as a particularly important field in ideological work, a sharp means and weapon to propagate, encourage, motivate, gather, organize and mobilize the people to implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies, and is also an essential means of information for social life.

In line with the glorious tradition of the country's revolutionary press, following in the footsteps of generations of journalists and soldiers who have been trained through the long struggles for national liberation and unification, under the direct leadership of the provincial Party Committee, the provincial press agencies have continuously developed and grown stronger in all aspects. The provincial Party Committee, government and people are delighted with the maturity and steadfastness of the team of journalists in the province.

The team of journalists in the province is always the pioneer, leading force, providing timely, honest and comprehensive information on the political , economic and social life of the province. Many journalists have not been afraid of difficulties and hardships, sticking close to the grassroots to write articles that spread, inspire and motivate with the motto "using positive to push back negative"; "using beauty to eliminate ugliness" contributing to building a more civilized and better society.

Press agencies have innovated, approached modern journalism technology, and gradually transformed digitally in journalism activities, bringing press information to different infrastructures and media platforms to increase the ability to interact with readers. The amount of information posted on new media is diverse, reflecting many aspects, attracting a large number of visitors.

In particular, recently, press agencies in the province have stepped up information and propaganda work, promoting the 2024 Peace Festival with the aim of honoring the value of peace, calling on everyone to join hands in the struggle to preserve and build a peaceful and prosperous life, building Quang Tri into a cultural space for Peace, a symbol of the strong vitality of humanity right on the land destroyed by war, a meeting place for friends from all over the world who love peace.

On the occasion of the great festival of journalists, on behalf of the provincial leaders, I commend and congratulate the team of journalists in the province for their efforts and great achievements; in particular, I highly appreciate the contributions of comrades in charge of press direction and management who have excellently fulfilled their tasks, creating conditions for the press to develop further, improving the quality of revolutionary journalism, making an important contribution to the cause of innovation and international integration of the homeland and country.

To recognize and honor the important contributions and tireless efforts of the press, the Provincial People's Committee has decided to organize the annual Quang Tri Provincial Press Awards.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee solemnly organized the summary and award ceremony of the 7th Quang Tri Provincial Press Award - 2023. I propose that we warmly congratulate the success of the Award and congratulate the press agencies, authors and groups of authors honored at this award.

Dear comrades!

Promoting the achievements after 35 years of re-establishing the province (1989 - 2024), Quang Tri is making efforts to transform itself for development and integration. Many key projects of the province and many national projects are being implemented in the province such as the project: My Thuy Port Area has been under construction (determined to have 2 ports in operation by the end of 2025); Quang Tri Industrial Park project has completed the first phase of site clearance and leveling; Quang Tri Airport project is focusing on site clearance and completing procedures to start construction on July 6, 2024; the Eastern bypass project of Dong Ha City has started construction; Projects: Van Ninh - Cam Lo Expressway, Coastal Road connecting the East-West Economic Corridor, Road connecting Ho Chi Minh Road East branch with Ho Chi Minh Road West branch, Quang Tri 500kV Transformer Station and 500kV connecting line in Quang Tri are focused on by the province to drastically direct the site clearance and construction implementation..., creating a new driving force for the development of the province, gradually building the image, creating a good impression of the land and people, the potential and advantages of the province, especially the image of "the sacred land blooming with flowers of peace", bringing the message of Peace from Quang Tri to the world and bringing the world of Peace to Quang Tri.

Therefore, I suggest that the team of journalists in the province should always be the pioneering force, leading the way, need to closely follow and propagate strongly, timely, honest, comprehensive information about the political, economic and social life of the province. Pay more attention to policy communication work, contribute to bringing policies into life, turn policies into strength, into a driving force to promote rapid and sustainable development.

Along with that, the press in the province needs to promote digital transformation, spread positive information, directional information, lead public opinion, especially on social networks, on digital platforms, and effectively implement Plan No. 177/KH-UBND dated August 28, 2023 of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing the Press Digital Transformation Strategy to 2025, with a vision to 2030 in Quang Tri province.

In the era of digital transformation, information on the Internet spreads rapidly, there are both "fragrant flowers" and "poisonous weeds", journalists with sharp intelligence, discerning eyes, and pure hearts need to strongly promote the role of creative journalism, solution journalism, helping the public not only receive information in a complete and accurate manner, but importantly, that information provides useful insights and solutions to the problems that have been and are being raised by life.

We will have to continue to strive with high determination to achieve the highest level of the set goals and tasks.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee hopes that the press agencies will continue to accompany, share, contribute ideas, and devote themselves to the concerns of the leaders and people in the province, promoting the tradition of "sharp pen, pure heart, bright mind" together with the Party Committee, government and people of the province to successfully implement the goals and tasks of 2024.

Once again, on the occasion of the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, I wish journalists to always keep the flame of enthusiasm in their hearts, continue to make more contributions to the noble career they have chosen, continue to be pioneers on the ideological and cultural front, and actively contribute to the sustainable development of the province.
