Former V-League champion team targets person recommended by coach Park for Vietnamese football

Right after Hanoi FC parted ways with coach Bozidar Bandovic, many sources confirmed that the team is aiming to bring Mr. Gong Oh-kyun to the hot seat at Hang Day Stadium.

Coach Gong is not a strange name as he was once recommended by coach Park Hang-seo to VFF to lead U23 Vietnam.

By early 2023, the Korean coach had left Vietnamese football after about 6 months of association.

In recent days, many sources have revealed that coach Gong Oh-kyun wants to return to Vietnam to work.

But he wants to receive a salary of up to 700 million VND/month. In addition, his compatriot, Coach Park, also wants to have a team of 2-3 foreign assistants to support him.

But most recently, coach Gong Oh-kyun's representative has denied this information.

On October 7, Hanoi FC announced that they would part ways with coach Bozidar Bandovic 2 months in advance.

The purple team did not play well in the AFC Champions League when they lost two consecutive matches against Pohang Steelers and Urawa Red Diamonds.

Since taking charge of Hanoi FC, the Montenegrin coach has played 24 matches, including 12 wins (50%), 5 draws (21%) and 7 losses (29%).

Also according to the announcement, assistant Le Duc Tuan will temporarily replace coach Bandovic to lead the capital team until a new captain is found.
