(NLDO) - The tourism culinary competition is not only a playground for talented chefs but also affirms the culinary position of Quang Binh in the hearts of tourists.
The Organizing Committee awarded first prize to Phong Nha Eco Village team.
On the afternoon of December 30, Quang Binh Tourism Promotion Information Center coordinated with Phong Nha - Ke Bang Tourism Center to organize the Quang Binh Tourism Culinary Competition 2024.
The competition brought a vibrant and inspiring atmosphere to Phong Nha - Ke Bang area, attracting the participation of 16 teams from restaurants, tourist areas and tourism service businesses in Quang Binh province.
During 60 minutes, each team demonstrated their ability to prepare two dishes: a signature dish of their unit and an appetizer or dessert, demonstrating creativity and sophistication in culinary arts.
The highlight of the competition lies not only in the attractive flavors but also in the lively presentation and story behind each dish, helping the audience understand more deeply about the unique culinary culture of Quang Binh.
At the end of the competition, Phong Nha Eco Village team won first prize with a unique dish combining local ingredients with a modern cooking style, completely conquering the judges and the audience. The Phong Nha Town Women's Union and Ozo Park Ecotourism Teams won second prize, while the Ganesh Indian Restaurant, 7th Heaven and Travel Guide Department teams were honored with third prize. The Organizing Committee also awarded 10 consolation prizes to honor the efforts of other excellent teams.
The 2024 Quang Binh Tourism Culinary Competition is not only a playground for talented chefs to show off their cooking techniques, but also an opportunity to honor the traditional culinary culture of this land. Dishes such as Quang Hoa pancakes, Phong Nha stream fish grilled in banana leaves, Hong Thuy lotus seed tea... have captivated diners thanks to their delicious flavors and authentic local cooking methods.
In addition, the contest is also an opportunity for units to exchange, learn and share experiences in improving and innovating menus to enhance the quality of service for tourists. From the selection of fresh ingredients, safe processing procedures, to creativity in the presentation of dishes, all aim to build a professional and friendly image of the Quang Binh tourism industry.
In particular, this year's competition was held in the bustling atmosphere of a series of events welcoming the new year 2025. The vibrant sounds of the performances and the bright smiles of the visitors created a truly unforgettable festival.
