The great responsibility of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises
On September 21, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association - VINASA held a ceremony to announce and honor the 'Top 10 outstanding digital technology enterprises in Vietnam 2024' . This is the 11th time with the purpose of voting and recognizing prestigious and leading digital technology enterprises in Vietnam, thereby introducing and connecting these enterprises with domestic and international partners.
Commenting on the ceremony to honor the 'Top 10 outstanding digital technology enterprises in Vietnam' as a meaningful event, Mr. Nguyen Khac Lich, Director of the Department of Information Technology and Communications Industry (ICT) under the Ministry of Information and Communications, said: The Ministry of Information and Communications highly appreciates the effectiveness of this program and other annual activities of VINASA in contributing to building and promoting the brand of Vietnam's digital technology industry.
Mr. Nguyen Khac Lich also said: “With the strong development of new generation digital technologies of the 4.0 industrial revolution, IT has transformed into digital technology. Digital technology, according to Minister Nguyen Manh Hung, will become the basic production force, digital talent will become the basic resource, digital innovation will become the basic driving force for the country's development” .
Citing new viewpoints and major orientations on the particularly important role of digital transformation, which General Secretary and President To Lam put forward in an article commemorating the 79th anniversary of National Day, September 2, a representative of the ICT Industry Department emphasized: The guiding viewpoints of General Secretary and President To Lam place an extremely great responsibility on the information and communications industry and Vietnamese digital technology enterprises; at the same time, it also creates opportunities and extremely favorable conditions for the explosive development of the industry along with the development of the digital technology enterprise force in the coming time.
According to the representative of the ICT Industry Department, in the context of the world economy continuing to face many difficulties and challenges, the Vietnamese digital technology industry has still achieved remarkable results. The revenue of Vietnam's digital technology industry in the first 9 months of 2024 reached 118 billion USD, an increase of 17.78% compared to the first 9 months of 2023; of which, the revenue from software activities and digital industry services was 6.64 billion USD, an increase of 9.86% compared to the first 9 months of 2023.
The Vietnamese digital technology business community has gathered more than 51,000 enterprises, creating jobs for over 1.5 million people, of which about 1,500 digital technology enterprises have revenue from foreign markets. Software activities and digital industry services are one of the competitive strengths of Vietnamese enterprises domestically and internationally, contributing to putting Vietnam on the world map of digital industry.
“The Vietnamese digital technology business community has been unanimously joining hands with the Government and the Ministry of Information and Communications to fully exploit the opportunities that digital technology brings; design and create digital applications, help with digital transformation, build a digital government that brings trust, develop a digital economy that brings prosperity and develop a digital society that brings happiness to the people, contributing to the goal of a rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness and civilization” , affirmed a representative of the ICT Industry Department.
Speaking at the event, Vice President of VINASA Ngo Dien Hy also emphasized: Digital technology enterprises have been identified as the core force, pioneering in digital transformation. Therefore, selecting prestigious and excellent digital technology enterprises that can accompany the Government, enterprises and connect global cooperation is even more important.
Honoring 81 outstanding digital technology enterprises
With the 'Top 10 Outstanding Digital Technology Enterprises in Vietnam' in 2024, the program attracted the participation of 192 nominations from 140 enterprises across the country. Through 3 rounds of evaluation, the Organizing Committee recognized the outstanding achievements of 81 enterprises in 22 fields, including 11 enterprises with revenue of over 1,000 billion VND.
The organizers also said that the top 10 outstanding digital technology enterprises this year have a total revenue of more than 4.7 billion USD and create jobs for more than 75,000 employees. These are prestigious enterprises, achieving great achievements in revenue, having excellent technological capabilities, providing professional services, and caring about green and sustainable development.
VINASA representative emphasized that the sustainable development of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises is based on the ownership, development, and application of advanced technology tools, and the development of excellent IT experts and engineers. In particular, many companies have patented AI products and won many international awards.
“The growth formula of many digital technology businesses in recent times has been to invest heavily in applying AI tools such as OCR, Chatbot, Test automation... with the goal of increasing labor productivity, increasing product packaging speed, thereby optimizing resources to create growth in both revenue and profit,” added a VINASA representative.
Along with that, in recent times, digital technology enterprises have not only taken responsibility for the national digital transformation, but have also been pioneers in the 'Go global' strategy and the 'Make in Vietnam' initiative - creating Vietnamese technology products and solutions to solve domestic and international problems.
In particular, in the future, digital technology enterprises will continue to play an important role in developing new driving forces for the Vietnamese economy, such as the semiconductor industry and green-smart transformation.
Sharing the expectations of the Ministry of Information and Communications with the newly honored enterprises, Director of the ICT Industry Department Nguyen Khac Lich believes that the owners of the title of Top 10 outstanding digital technology enterprises are like "leading birds" flying high, flying far, leading the Vietnamese digital technology business community to successfully fulfill their pioneering role, together with the entire Party and people to successfully carry out the digital transformation revolution in the new era.
Expressing gratitude to the digital technology business community for their constant efforts, creativity and dedication to the common development of the industry and the country, Mr. Nguyen Khac Lich affirmed that the Ministry of Information and Communications always supports and accompanies VINASA and Vietnamese digital technology businesses.
| After more than 10 years of VINASA organizing the program 'Top 10 outstanding digital technology enterprises in Vietnam', from 30 enterprises selected in the two fields of software production and export processing, up to now, there have been 763 enterprises honored. The revenue of the entire Vietnamese IT industry has increased more than 4.5 times and contributed 14.4% to the country's GDP. |
