In August, Honda CR-V received 50%-100% support for registration fees depending on the version (the e:HEV version has no incentives). However, according to statistics from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), CR-V is still the model with the sharpest sales decline in the C-size SUV segment in August, nearly 50%.

In September, Decree 109 of the State was issued, applying a 50% reduction in registration fees for domestic products, including 3 pure gasoline versions of the CR-V. However, the Japanese car company still adjusted the suggested retail price of these 3 variants, reducing by 60-80 million VND.
Once again, the e:HEV (hybrid) variant of the Honda CR-V is still not being promoted by the company. It is worth mentioning that this version is imported completely from Thailand, not assembled like the 3 pure gasoline versions.
Version | Old price | New price | Discount level |
CR-V G | 1,109,000,000 | 1,029,000,000 | 80,000,000 |
CR-V L | 1,159,000,000 | 1,099,000,000 | 60,000,000 |
CR-V L AWD | 1,310,000,000 | 1,250,000,000 | 60,000,000 |
CR-V e:HEV | 1,259,000,000 | 1,259,000,000 | - |
The company no longer supports registration fees but directly reduces the selling price of Honda CR-V from the beginning of September (Unit: VND).
It seems that these programs are still not enough to make dealers feel secure about the CR-V's business situation in September. According to Dan Tri reporters' observations, some dealers in the Hanoi area are applying additional incentives specifically for this car model.
Specifically, pure gasoline versions come with accessories worth 10-30 million VND depending on the location. The first e:HEV variant gets a direct discount of 50 million VND, lowering the price from 1.259 billion to 1.209 billion VND, and comes with an accessory package worth 40 million VND.
Sales consultants said that Honda CR-V e:HEV is available, with enough exterior color options for Vietnamese customers to choose from (Photo: Nguyen Lam).
In previous months, this version had no promotions from the manufacturer or dealer due to the small number of imported cars, often in a state of "shortage". At times, this variant was sold at a "high" price of 30 million or with a "mismatch" of 50 million VND at showrooms, and it was not until mid-2024 that the price returned to its correct level.
In the competitive segment, Honda CR-V is currently the product with the most expensive suggested retail price (VND 1.029-1.259 billion), approaching D-class SUVs like Ford Everest (from VND 1.099 billion). The consumption of this model cannot be compared to the "national" C-SUV model like Mazda CX-5, but it still has its own customer base.
In the first 8 months of 2024, Honda CR-V's cumulative sales reached 3,203 vehicles. Of which, 922 were e:HEV (Photo: Nguyen Lam).
The cumulative sales results of Honda CR-V in the first 8 months of 2024 increased by 6.4% compared to the same period last year. This growth is not much, but partly shows the attraction of this model, after being upgraded to a new generation in October 2023.
