According to the New York Post, Alona Savchenko (24 years old) and her boyfriend Jan Jerzy Lagoda-Filippow (25 years old) moved into the luxury apartment building Key Sathon-Charoenraj in Bang Kho Laem district, Bangkok, Thailand, on April 29.

In another CCTV video from the afternoon of May 15, Lagoda-Filippow looked serious as he waited for the elevator with a suitcase, with no sign of Savchenko.

Later that day, the building manager and a security guard received contact from a taxi driver named Surachai Sabaibang.

Viral Press reported that the taxi driver said he was hired by Lagoda-Filippow and asked to take him to “any casino.” During the ride, the foreign man used Google Translate on his phone to ask the taxi driver to help him dismember his girlfriend in exchange for $44.

Surachai Sabaibang disagreed, dropped the customer off at a hotel in the Sathorn district, and then called the condominium management to report Lagoda-Filippow's disruptive behavior. He added that the customer appeared to be drunk.

The apartment staff then checked the couple’s apartment on the 32nd floor and found Savchenko lying bloodied and lifeless on the bed. The victim’s body had multiple stab wounds, the most serious of which was a cut from her neck to her left shoulder that almost severed her head. Savchenko’s face was covered in blood and her left hand had been severed at the wrist.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a 0.6 meter long saw next to the victim's body. Investigators confirmed that the 24-year-old model had died about 24 hours before she was discovered.

Authorities plan to perform an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

According to Thai PBS World , that same evening, Thai police found Lagoda-Filippow sitting on a stone table in Rong Klua market in Aranyaprathet district, Sa Kaeo province, just 6 km from the border with Cambodia. The authorities took the wanted man to the headquarters for questioning, but the suspect refused to talk. Afterwards, the police searched the suspect's luggage and allegedly found Savchenko's passport.

Police said Lagoda-Filippow was suspected of trying to flee Thailand before his arrest.

The agent added that the suspect was “very calm” at the time of his arrest. “He drank coffee in his cell and started exercising, as was his usual morning routine. He did not say anything,” police said.

Jan Jerzy Lagoda-Filippow is a Polish citizen who owns an advertising company registered in London, UK.

Meanwhile, the victim Alona Savchenko was originally from Ukraine and worked as a model. She had blonde hair, a beautiful face and a sexy body. Before being murdered by her boyfriend, she posted travel photos to many beautiful places in London, Rome (Italy), Valencia (Spain) and Istanbul (Türkiye).

Her LinkedIn profile shows that in addition to modeling, she also works as a marketing specialist for an Estonian brand.

She graduated with a BA in English language and literature from Zaporizhzhia State University in Ukraine in 2022, and has also completed a three-month course in international business at Guangdong University of Finance in China. Savchenko previously worked as an English tutor and social media content creator.
