Specifically, AVAC Vietnam Joint Stock Company has completed the plan to inject 605,211 doses on pigs at 596 farms and facilities of different sizes in 34 provinces and cities. The Central Veterinary Medicine Joint Stock Company has injected more than 51,000 doses, of which more than 45,000 doses were supervised.
According to the assessment, after a period of small-scale vaccination in the field, the vaccine showed positive results, vaccinated pigs grew and developed normally, and the antibody rate after vaccination reached more than 94%.
Based on the implementation, Mr. Phan Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the Department of Animal Health (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) said that the Department of Animal Health has proposed to the leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development 2 options:
Option 1 , to be widely used and exported, the vaccines of these two companies must meet quality requirements after having test results that meet the requirements of the Central Veterinary Drug Testing Center I on criteria such as: sterility, purity, safety and effectiveness, each company continues to test at least 10 consecutive vaccine production batches.
Option 2 is that businesses must proactively take responsibility for testing the quality of all vaccine batches produced.
However, Mr. Nguyen Van Diep, Director of AVAC Vietnam Joint Stock Company, requested the Department of Animal Health and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to allow the end of the monitoring program and allow the African swine fever vaccine to be widely used and circulated nationwide, and at the same time allow export. This enterprise is committed to producing and supplying vaccines that meet safety standards and is fully responsible. If any situation arises in reality, it will proactively coordinate with specialized agencies to promptly handle it.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien said that difficulties will soon be removed, creating conditions for businesses to soon bring products to the market for widespread use and export.
“The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will choose the option of assigning enterprises to proactively monitor the vaccination process, take responsibility for testing the quality of all vaccine batches produced, and will provide guidance for provinces and cities to coordinate with enterprises to vaccinate against African swine fever,” Deputy Minister Tien concluded.
