Supervision delegation of the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee: Supervision of crime prevention and drug abuse control

On August 29, the Supervisory Delegation of the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee led by Comrade Nguyen Tien Duc, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee, Head of the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee, had a working session with the Provincial Police on crime prevention and control (PCTP) and drug abuse (MT) in the province, from 2020 to May 2023.

After more than 3 years of implementing the work of combating, preventing and combating drug-related evils, the Provincial Police force has promoted propaganda work with diverse and rich contents and forms, suitable to the intellectual level, locality, and subjects, focusing on key areas and localities with complex drug-related issues, and high-risk groups. Thereby, many cases of illegal possession and trading of drugs have been handled and destroyed; promptly investigating, prosecuting, and strictly trying cases and subjects related to drugs. From 2020 to May 2023, the Provincial Police discovered and arrested 381 cases, 762 subjects, prosecuted 354 cases, 562 defendants. Along with that, the management of drug addicts and illegal users of drugs has been given attention and focus; 184 files have been prepared to propose compulsory drug rehabilitation facilities, and 180 cases have been mobilized for voluntary drug rehabilitation...

Comrade Nguyen Tien Duc, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee, Head of the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee spoke at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission highly appreciated the results achieved in the work of preventing and combating drug-related crimes. At the same time, he requested that in the coming time, the Provincial Police continue to strengthen the role and responsibility of Party committees and authorities at all levels in the work of preventing, combating and controlling drug-related crimes. In particular, focusing on directing the continued implementation of the goals, requirements, tasks and solutions set out in Directive No. 36-CT/TW. Promoting propaganda andeducation on the law on drug-related crimes widely throughout society. Cooperating with localities to regularly increase patrols, control, and grasp the area to promptly detect, arrest and strictly handle drug-related crimes. Continuing to effectively implement drug rehabilitation work, helping people after drug rehabilitation to reintegrate into the community, supporting job search, accessing production loans, etc.
