On the afternoon of June 25, in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province, a delegation from the Ho Chi Minh City Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, led by Ms. Vu Thi Huynh Mai, Chairwoman of the Committee, visited the Naval Region 5 Command. Colonel Luong Quoc Anh, Deputy Commander of the Region, chaired the reception.
At the meeting, delegates watched a traditional film about the process of building, fighting, growing and developing the Naval Region 5 Command; listened to an introduction of some main features of the Southwest sea area and the outstanding achievements and results of the Naval Region 5 Command in carrying out assigned political tasks.
Speaking at the meeting, Colonel Luong Quoc Anh expressed his pleasure to welcome the delegation of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City to visit the unit, and emphasized: "Journey of overseas Vietnamese to the homeland's sea and islands" of the delegation is a meaningful activity, helping overseas Vietnamese better understand the homeland's sea and islands, the living conditions, activities, study and work of officers and soldiers of the Naval Region 5 Command and the unit's task of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands.

The Deputy Commander of Naval Region 5 hopes that after the journey to the Southwest sea, the delegates will actively promote the sea, islands and activities to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the officers and soldiers of the Region to the people and overseas Vietnamese, contributing to fostering love for the sea and islands, making the movement "For the homeland's sea and islands - For the frontline of the Fatherland" continue to spread widely and effectively, thereby encouraging and motivating officers and soldiers of the unit to successfully complete their assigned tasks.
On behalf of the delegation of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Vu Thi Huynh Mai thanked the officers and soldiers of the Naval Region 5 Command for their warm and thoughtful reception and said: The trip aims to enhance responsibility, affection, arouse and promote the patriotism of the people of Ho Chi Minh City and our compatriots abroad for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland in the new situation.

Chairwoman of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City Vu Thi Huynh Mai affirmed: “With our sentiments and responsibilities, we will continue to advise and propose to leaders at all levels and overseas Vietnamese to promote activities towards the homeland’s sea and islands with specific, practical and meaningful actions to encourage, cheer and motivate cadres, soldiers, people and forces to stick to the sea and islands, to perform well the assigned tasks, contributing to firmly protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland”.
On this occasion, the delegation presented many practical and meaningful gifts to officers and soldiers of Naval Region 5 Command.
