Sharing with the delegation of Luong-Nam-Tha province, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Thanh Do said: Currently, Dien Bien province has attracted 13 projects with a total scale of nearly 70,000 hectares of macadamia trees; the whole province has planted about 10,000 hectares of macadamia. Macadamia growing areas are all deployed in a concentrated manner and carry out projects in a closed chain from planting, caring to harvesting, processing and consuming products. In 2023, Dien Bien province sent a delegation of technical staff and enterprises to 3 provinces of Northern Laos to survey the terrain, soil, climate and support other provinces in pilot planting macadamia trees. In addition to macadamia trees, Dien Bien province also focuses on developing long-term industrial crops such as rubber and coffee.

The leaders of Luong-Nam-Tha province hoped that Dien Bien province would continue to share more experiences and techniques of planting macadamia seedlings. At the same time, they requested that the competent authorities of Luong-Nam-Tha province discuss in depth with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dien Bien province to study and survey the possibility of developing macadamia trees in Luong-Nam-Tha province.
