According to a representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Tinh, at the 42nd UNESCO General Assembly meeting this year, Vietnam submitted a proposal to honor and celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac in 2024.
On the morning of November 13 (local time), at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France, the Ha Tinh Provincial Delegation led by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bau Ha attended the 42nd General Assembly session. At the 42nd UNESCO General Assembly this year (taking place from November 7-22), Vietnam submitted a proposal to honor and celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac in 2024.
According to the assessment of professional agencies, the dossier of Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac submitted by Vietnam to the UNESCO General Assembly this year was elaborately and scientifically constructed, highlighting the contributions, values, and outstanding messages of Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac. The dossier meets the criteria to be honored and commemorated by UNESCO.

At the meeting of the African Priority Committee and Foreign Relations held on November 8, the countries agreed to propose that the 42nd UNESCO General Assembly approve the list of "Cultural Celebrities and Historical Events for the 2024-2025 school year" for UNESCO to honor and participate in commemorating the birth/death anniversaries, including the Great Physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac of Vietnam.
According to the plan, the UNESCO resolution announcement session will take place on November 21 and the summary and closing session will take place on November 22.
