On the morning of September 30, during a visit and work in Australia, a delegation of press - media, culture - arts agencies of Ho Chi Minh City, led by comrade Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, visited and worked at the headquarters of the ABC National Media Group, Sydney City, Australia.
Here, the delegation members visited, surveyed, and learned about the multimedia group's operating model, digital transformation strategy, and digital content production process of ABC.
Receiving and discussing with the delegation, leaders of important departments of ABC said that ABC was established in 1932, is a public media group, operating with government budget, and does not exploit advertising. The early implementation of the digital transformation strategy has made ABC the world's leading multi-platform media group today. The goal is that by 2026, all aspects of ABC's operations will be on a digital platform. ABC's digital transformation strategy is not only to invest in digital infrastructure but also to target the public's trend of using digital devices and content products.
ABC applies the Editorial Code, ensuring freedom of information, respect for privacy, protection of children... 75% of ABC's activities are devoted to news production. Information must ensure 3 factors: accuracy, objectivity and fairness. ABC pays special attention to the feedback, response and complaint handling mechanism. The public can complain about information content directly to the author, the production department or to the Group's Inspection and Complaint Handling Board (which operates independently from the content production stage). Currently, ABC cooperates with many countries around the world, including Vietnam. ABC identifies Vietnam as an important market and is building more special programs with Vietnamese subtitles.
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue said that the operating model of ABC Group is very useful for members of the Ho Chi Minh City delegation to refer to and learn from. The delegation also hopes that ACB Group will provide the above-mentioned Editorial Code of Conduct for press and media agencies in Ho Chi Minh City to study and refer to.
Before that, the delegation visited the Sydney Opera House, learned about the model of construction, operation, maintenance, organization of events, festivals as well as organizing art programs and developing cultural industries.
