Continuing the working trip to China, on September 24, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Van Thi, Standing Committee Member, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, worked with the Vietnamese Consulate General in Shanghai.

Consul General Nguyen The Tung warmly welcomed the delegation of Thanh Hoa province to visit and work at the Consulate General of Vietnam in Shanghai; and said: The potential for cooperation between Vietnamese localities and Shanghai is huge. Currently, Chinese enterprises in general and Shanghai in particular are increasing their investment abroad and the Vietnamese market is a very important destination due to its many outstanding advantages. This is an opportunity that Thanh Hoa province needs to grasp and take advantage of to attract Chinese investors to invest in the province.

Consul General of Vietnam in Shanghai Nguyen The Tung also affirmed: With a large population and high living standards, Shanghai as well as the provinces of Jiangsu and Zhejiang are potential markets for economic development cooperation, investment in production and business, import and export of goods of Thanh Hoa province. Currently, Shanghai is focusing on developing 5 major centers: international economy, international trade, international finance, international maritime transport and international-scale science and technology innovation; in which, there will be experiences that Thanh Hoa province can learn, research and learn from.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Thi sincerely thanked the Consulate General of Vietnam in Shanghai for supporting the connection and arrangement of the delegation's working program in Zhejiang province and Shanghai city; at the same time, shared the purpose of the investment, trade and tourism promotion program as well as some activities of the delegation in China to establish, expand and enhance the investment, trade and tourism cooperation relationship between the parties.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also briefly informed about the socio-economic development situation and the results of attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) in Thanh Hoa province. He emphasized: Cooperation in attracting FDI from the Chinese market occupies an important position. Currently, there are 72 projects of Chinese enterprises investing in Thanh Hoa, with a total registered capital of about 1.2 billion USD, ranking 3rd after Japan and Korea, focusing mainly on the fields of garment and footwear.

Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Thi expressed his wish to continue to receive support and assistance from the Consulate General of Vietnam in Shanghai, China in connecting, introducing and developing cooperative relationships with Chinese partners to invest in the province; especially focusing on the areas that the province prioritizes to attract investment such as: Production, processing and manufacturing, high-tech agriculture, green growth, green economy, digital economy, trade, services and tourism.

Previously, the delegation of Thanh Hoa province visited and worked at JASAN Group, headquartered in Hangzhou city, Zhejiang province. JASAN is a large Chinese corporation, operating in the field of manufacturing high-end socks and underwear. The corporation is a partner and supplier of products for the world's leading brands such as Adidas, Nike, Puma... with more than 90% of products exported to Japan, Europe, Australia and foreign markets. Investing in Vietnam since 2013, up to now, the corporation has invested in many factories in provinces and cities. In Thanh Hoa province, JASAN Vietnam Co., Ltd. under JASAN Group invested in a factory in Dinh Lien commune, (Yen Dinh). The high-end sock and bra factory is built on an area of nearly 10 hectares with a total investment of 35 million USD, employing about 3,000 workers with an output of 100 million pairs of socks and 15 million underwear products per year.
In Shanghai, the delegation visited and worked with INTCO Company. This is a high-tech manufacturing enterprise in the medical field and utilizes plastic recycling to produce quality, environmentally friendly consumer products. Currently, INTCO Vietnam Industrial Co., Ltd., a member of the Group, has invested in a factory in Bim Son Industrial Park, specializing in the production of decorative products, including picture frames and frame bars, using environmentally friendly technology. The factory has an investment capital of nearly 580 billion VND, equivalent to 25 million USD. The factory's products are exported to many major markets around the world, with an export value of about 35 million USD/year; creating jobs for nearly 1,000 local workers. In addition, the Group is also implementing a medical glove factory project in Bim Son town.
Standing Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Thi highly appreciated the investment scale as well as the production capacity of the enterprises. He affirmed: The participation of large Chinese corporations in investment and production activities in Thanh Hoa province has contributed to creating new industrial products, increasing the export value of goods, creating jobs and contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the province.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested JASAN Group and INTCO Group to continue expanding production and business activities in Thanh Hoa province, and at the same time connect and introduce Chinese partners and enterprises to research, survey and invest in projects in the province, especially in areas that the province is prioritizing to attract investment, with high technology, environmentally friendly, and suitable for sustainable development requirements.
Thanh Hoa provincial leaders are committed to always being a reliable, long-term partner of Chinese investors; always welcoming, accompanying, supporting, and creating the best favorable conditions for investors to invest and operate production and business effectively in Thanh Hoa province.
