The delegation included comrades Nguyen Van Phuc, member of the Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee; Ly Binh Minh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; leaders of a number of departments, branches, sectors and organizations of the province.

Offering incense at the Dien Bien Phu battlefield martyrs' temple, in a solemn atmosphere, the Lao Cai provincial delegation respectfully laid wreaths, lit incense sticks to commemorate and express gratitude to the heroes and martyrs who did not spare their blood and bones, fought bravely and sacrificed to make the historic Dien Bien Phu victory, regaining independence and freedom for the nation.


The Dien Bien Phu battlefield martyrs' temple is a structure located on F hill relic - 1 of 45 component relics belonging to the Dien Bien Phu battlefield relic complex which has been ranked as a special national relic.
The overall space of the Dien Bien Phu battlefield martyrs' temple has an area of nearly 0.5 hectares, the design inherits the traditional architectural layout with many layers of space, the open and closed layout is divided into 3 main spaces: Introduction space (from the entrance gate to the entrance yard); memorial space (including meditation yard and memorial lake); spiritual space - main temple.


Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, offered incense at the A1 National Martyrs Cemetery.



At the A1 National Martyrs' Cemetery and Tong Khao Martyrs' Cemetery, Dien Bien Province, the Lao Cai Provincial Delegation laid wreaths and offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs. The Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Lao Cai Province always remember the heroic martyrs' contributions, vow to join hands and overcome difficulties, continue to promote the glorious traditions of the nation, determined to build Lao Cai Province into a developed province in the region and the whole country, worthy of the great sacrifices of previous generations, fighting for the revolutionary cause of the Party and the Vietnamese people.
A1 Martyrs Cemetery (also known as Dien Bien Martyrs Cemetery), a few hundred meters from the foot of Hill A1, is where a fierce battle took place 70 years ago during the Dien Bien Phu Campaign (1954). This is the resting place of 645 heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the Dien Bien Phu Campaign. Of the above graves, only 53 have been identified, the identities of the remaining graves are unidentified.
At Cemetery A1, there are four large graves engraved with the names of four heroic martyrs: Phan Dinh Giot (who used his body to fill the loophole), To Vinh Dien (who used his body to block the cannon), Be Van Dan (who used his body as a gun mount) and Tran Can (who planted the flag on the Him Lam base).


Tong Khao Cemetery is located in Thanh Nua commune, Dien Bien district, built in 1989, and has so far gathered more than 2,000 martyrs' graves.



Currently, Dien Bien province has 8 martyrs' cemeteries, with more than 6,600 martyrs. Lao Cai province has 4 martyrs' graves at Tong Khao Martyrs' Cemetery.
