The delegation included members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Ngoc Kim Nam - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Bui Thanh An - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and comrade Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and the Department of Foreign Affairs.

As soon as he arrived in Havana, Comrade Nguyen Van Thong and the provincial delegation laid flowers at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh at Ho Chi Minh Park in the center of Havana. This is a project inaugurated on the occasion of the 113th anniversary of Uncle Ho's birth, designed by architect Joel Diaz, Vice President of the Cuba - Vietnam Friendship Association. Also attending the flower offering ceremony were Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Hung - temporary representative of the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba, a number of overseas Vietnamese and local people in Havana.


Welcoming the delegation of Nghe An province at the headquarters of the Cuban Committee for the Defense of the Revolution, comrade Gerardo Hernandez Nordelo - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Hero of Cuba, Chairman of the Cuban Committee for the Defense of the Revolution expressed his impressions about the visit to Vietnam and Nghe An province in May 2023.
Comrade Gerardo Hernandez Nordelo also discussed the preparations for the 10th Congress of the Committee for the Defense of the Cuban Revolution and sincerely thanked Nghe An province for sending a delegation to visit, work and attend the 10th Congress of the Committee for the Defense of the Cuban Revolution.

Speaking with the leaders of the Cuban Revolutionary Defense Committee, Comrade Nguyen Van Thong expressed his joy at visiting Cuba. He recalled the special affection and valuable assistance that the Cuban Party, State and people had given to Vietnam during the difficult years of the past.
Sharing the difficulties that Cuba has been going through, he expressed his belief that the 10th Congress of the Committee for the Defense of the Cuban Revolution will be a great success, further building the Cuban revolutionary stronghold, and making an important contribution to preserving and developing the special friendship between the Party, State and people of the two brotherly countries.


During the program of activities in Cuba, Comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and the delegation of the province visited Nguyen Van Troi Primary School in the capital of La Habana. Congratulating the achievements in teaching and the thoughtfulness in caring for students of the teachers, Comrade Nguyen Van Thong expressed his emotions when visiting the gallery with many artifacts and pictures about the country, people of Vietnam, and about the heroic martyr Nguyen Van Troi.
Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong shared: Nguyen Van Troi Primary School has been and is one of the beautiful symbols of the close and loyal relationship between the Party and people of Vietnam and Cuba.


On behalf of the leaders of Nghe An province, Mr. Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and the delegation presented souvenirs and 5,000 USD to Nguyen Van Troi Primary School to equip it with additional teaching and learning equipment. Previously, the delegation of Nghe An province also presented some documents, souvenirs and 5,000 USD to the Office of the Committee for the Defense of the Cuban Revolution to purchase additional equipment for its activities.


On this occasion, comrade Truong Thi Ngoc Anh - Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the delegation also visited and presented gifts to Nguyen Van Troi Primary School.
Nghe An Newspaper will continue to update the activities of the Nghe An provincial leadership delegation in Cuba.
