BTO-Continuing the working session in Binh Thuan on the work of building and developing culture, society and building Vietnamese people in the province over nearly 40 years of renovation, on the morning of December 7, the Central Theoretical Council delegation led by comrade Ta Ngoc Tan - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council had a survey and working session with La Gi town.

La Gi has 9 administrative units including 5 wards and 4 communes. The land and people of La Gi have many cultural characteristics of the region, due to the characteristics of residents migrating to the locality several hundred years ago. Continuing the tradition of the previous Ham Tan District Party Committee, since the separation to establish the town in 2005, in the process of leadership and development, the Standing Committee of the Town Party Committee has always attached importance to building and developing culture, society and building Vietnamese people to meet the requirements of sustainable development of the country.
In particular, La Gi town encourages economic sectors to participate in investing in building cultural institutions and business organizations under the management of the State. To date, the town has 2 national historical and cultural relics and 4 provincial historical and cultural relics. 4 communes meet new rural cultural standards; 5 wards meet civilized urban standards; 100% of villages and neighborhoods meet cultural standards; over 97% of families meet cultural standards in 2023.
In addition, creative literary and artistic activities are always encouraged; mass arts at the grassroots level take place enthusiastically, attracting a large number of people to participate. Currently, many customs and festivals are still preserved and passed down through many generations such as the Dinh Thay Thim Cultural and Tourism Festival, the fishing festival at communal houses and temples in the town, etc.
Providing more information to the working delegation, Secretary of La Gi Town Party Committee Nguyen Hong Phap affirmed: La Gi is currently a southern urban area of the province, connected with the exchanges of major southern cities of the country, so it is deeply affected by the policies, economy, culture and society of these localities. Therefore, La Gi always determines that the development and construction of cultural life must respect objective laws, firmly adhere to traditional values, and local characteristics to protect itself and be the driving force for socio-economic development, in order to fight against the assimilationist, negative trends, and negative impacts on the cultural values of the province and the town in the current situation. At the same time, continue to build a healthy cultural environment, associated with promoting "Studying and following the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh" ...
Through information provided by the Standing Committee of La Gi Town Party Committee and departments, Comrade Ta Ngoc Tan - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council acknowledged the efforts and results of the locality in the past time. He hoped that La Gi town would continue to promote its advantages and thoroughly grasp and synchronously implement tasks and solutions to build and develop culture, society and people in the area in the spirit of Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW to actively contribute to the socio-economic development of the town.
On this occasion, the delegation also visited the historical site of Doc Ong Bang - where the first Communist Party cell of Binh Thuan was established in 1931 and the national historical and cultural site Dinh Thay Thim in Tan Tien commune.
