Do Quoc Luat sets a record of 10 consecutive Tien Phong Marathon championships

At Tien Phong Marathon 2024 on the morning of March 31, Do Quoc Luat quickly broke away and after half the distance, he left the chasing group including Dao Minh Thien, Luong Duc Phuoc, and Trinh Quoc Luong far behind.

After more than 31 minutes, Do Quoc Luat finished first in the 10km distance of the selection system. This was the 10th consecutive time Do Quoc Luat won this distance. That helped him set 2 records. That is, breaking the record of 9 championships of the legendary Bui Luong, and setting an unprecedented record of 10 consecutive championships in the 10km distance at the Tien Phong Marathon National Championship.

In an interview with VTC News after finishing, Do Quoc Luat emphasized his determination to conquer the men's 10km distance.

" To prepare for the tournament, I came here very early and prepared carefully. I am very happy that my efforts and hard work have been rewarded, and I am also very proud to have overcome difficulties, defended the gold medal in Lai Chau, and extended the record of 10 times winning the 10km distance.

At the start, there were a lot of athletes, I had a little problem, after running about 100m, I hit a pothole on the carpet and twisted my leg a little. However, I did not let that affect the team's overall performance. Luckily, I was not too seriously injured and continued my race, " said Quoc Luat.

The border captain also believes that maintaining the current series of achievements is not only for himself and his unit, but also a message to young people and amateur athletes about the awareness of regular and disciplined physical exercise to have a good health foundation for themselves, contributing more to society and the country.

The National Marathon and Long Distance Championship - Tien Phong Marathon 2024 took place this morning, March 31, with the participation of nearly 12,000 athletes, including professional athletes from the national athletics team and provinces and cities across the country.
