In Ho Chi Minh City, traffic at bus stations, train stations, and airports during the Hung Kings' death anniversary holiday was quite deserted due to the one-day holiday.
On the morning of April 18, Mien Tay Bus Station welcomed a slightly larger number of passengers than usual, but there was no overload. The waiting area for passengers was quite sparse, the ticket sales area was not crowded, and transport units said there were still many tickets to Vinh Long and Can Tho provinces... Mien Tay Bus Station estimated the number of passengers on the day at about 27,800 passengers, corresponding to 1,320 departing vehicles, reaching 103% compared to the same period.
An Suong Bus Station forecasts that during the holiday, the number of departures will reach 102.4% and the number of passengers will reach 104% compared to normal days. Specifically, on April 18, the bus station will have 310 trips and more than 2,000 passengers, the number of passengers at the station on April 17 and 18 is estimated at nearly 4,800.
At the new Eastern Bus Station, there are few passengers during this year's holiday. In addition, information from the unit said that the operation situation at the bus station is currently facing many difficulties due to the situation of "illegal buses, illegal stations", "disguised buses" in areas in the city, along national highways still continuing to pick up and drop off passengers, and receive goods in violation of regulations.
At Saigon station in the morning of the same day, the number of people buying tickets to board the train was as sparse as at the bus stations. The waiting area for the train was empty, and the time to buy train tickets was quick. At Tan Son Nhat airport, passengers were coming and going busily but there was no congestion. Traffic density in the areas leading to the airport, train station, and bus station was clear, with no congestion.
* Many people in Ho Chi Minh City took the opportunity to take their families out to play and "escape the heat" at some supermarkets, shopping malls, amusement parks, etc. This year's Hung Kings' Commemoration Day falls in the middle of the week and is a day off, so many people chose to have fun and relax right in the city.
A quick note at some supermarkets such as Satra, Co.opmart, GO!, MM Mega Market, AEon Mall Tan Phu... shows that there are quite a lot of customers coming in at noon and in the evening. Some dining areas at shopping malls are bustling with customers. Ms. Thuy Lan, living in Thu Duc City, said that the weather is hot, so her family went to Gigamall Shopping Center together, picked up a few items and let the children have fun during the holiday.
Currently, supermarkets are expanding price stabilization programs to stimulate shopping. For example, MM Mega Market is offering preferential prices for cosmetics and dry foods; selling fresh foods at wholesale prices; increasing the promotion limit for private label products by 40%-50%... Saigon Co.op is offering discounts on many items at more than 800 points of sale nationwide, such as food, essential consumer goods, fruits, vegetables... The GO! BigC supermarket chain has just announced that it will launch more than 2,000 cheaper product codes from now until the end of the year.
For entertainment areas such as Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Area, Dam Sen Cultural Park, Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden... welcome a large number of people and tourists to visit. On this occasion, Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Area proactively reduced the entrance ticket price for adults and children by 20,000-30,000 VND/person (after the discount, it is 60,000 VND/child ticket, 120,000 VND/adult ticket); at the same time, a 22% discount for visitors and fruit pickers at Suoi Tien Farm from now until April 30. Dam Sen Cultural Park also organizes many entertainment programs such as cake decoration contest, Vietnamese ethnic culture festival, human chess performance, stilts...
* On April 18, the weather was hot and sunny, many tourists took advantage of the holiday to visit and enjoy tourist attractions near the sea and rivers.
At the Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park tourist area (Hoa Phu commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city), many tourists were families and friends who arrived early. In particular, the Dinosaur Park and the Water Park attracted a large number of children. On this occasion, the tourist area is expected to attract more than 2,000 domestic and international tourists. Meanwhile, at the East Sea Park (Son Tra district, Da Nang city), because this area is covered with green trees, many family groups come to gather to play, read books or have picnics until the afternoon. The Da Nang beach area attracts many Korean and European tourists.
At Thuan An, Canh Duong and Lang Co beaches in Thua Thien Hue province, locals and tourists flocked to swim and relax. The relics managed by the Hue Monuments Conservation Center also attracted thousands of domestic and foreign tourists. Despite the large number of visitors, there was no overcharging. Authorities regularly monitored social networks and hotlines to promptly handle violations of the image of tourism in the ancient capital.
Meanwhile, on some main roads in Hoi An ancient town (Quang Nam province) such as Tran Phu, Bach Dang, Nguyen Thai Hoc... the number of visitors walking and cycling is sparse. At the Japanese Covered Bridge, there is no scene of tourists jostling to visit and take souvenir photos because this construction is under renovation. The majority of visitors to Hoi An during the day are from the province and neighboring localities such as Da Nang and Quang Ngai. These visitors mainly come to eat, walk and drink coffee at shops in the central area of the ancient town. Most of the international visitors to Hoi An during this time are tourists traveling in groups of Korean and European nationality...
