The price of Chu Se pepper (Gia Lai) was purchased at 152,000 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. The price of Dak Nong pepper today was down to 153,000 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
In the Southeast region, pepper prices today decreased by 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Specifically, in Binh Phuoc, pepper prices today decreased to 152,000 VND/kg. In Ba Ria - Vung Tau, it decreased to 153,000 VND/kg.
Thus, today's pepper price has been adjusted down, fluctuating in the price range of 152,000 - 153,000 VND/kg, the highest price in pepper growing areas in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dak Lak, Dak Nong is 153,000 VND/kg.
World pepper price today
Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Association (IPC), at the end of the most recent trading session, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 7,578 USD/ton, and the price of Muntok white pepper at 8,923 USD/ton.
The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper was at $7,500/ton. The price of Malaysian ASTA black pepper rose to $8,800/ton, up 3.41%; the price of this country's ASTA white pepper reached $10,900/ton.
Vietnam's black pepper price is stable at 6,600 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l at 7,000 USD/ton; white pepper price at 9,300 USD/ton.
According to preliminary statistics of the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), in August 2024, Vietnam imported 1,491 tons of pepper, of which black pepper reached 1,214 tons and white pepper reached 277 tons, with a total import turnover of 8.2 million USD, compared to the previous month, the import volume decreased by 19.6%.
Brazil was the largest pepper supplier to Vietnam, reaching 736 tons, up 808.6% over the previous month, followed by Indonesia and Cambodia. Tran Chau was the largest importer, reaching 669 tons, up 435.2% over July.
By the end of August, Vietnam had imported 21,348 tons of pepper of all kinds, of which black pepper reached 18,657 tons and white pepper reached 2,691 tons, with a total import turnover of 88.4 million USD, compared to the same period last year, the import volume increased by 12.3%.
Vietnam imported mainly from Brazil with 8,058 tons, down 30.5%; Cambodia with 6,635 tons, up 96.1% and Indonesia with 4,530 tons, up 94.6%. Leading importers included: Olam Vietnam with 7,496 tons, down 1.6%; Pearl with 2,756 tons, down 11.4% and KSS Vietnam with 1,235 tons, up 10.1%.
