Although the film Black Medicine has only aired 3 episodes, it has quickly attracted the attention of the audience. In particular, a short video excerpt of the conversation between the two characters Dat (Do Duy Nam) and Cuong (Anh Vu) has had more than 3 million views after only 2 days of posting.

The first episodes revolve around the case of Vuong (Tuan Anh), who is dead but the police have not yet determined the cause and the perpetrator. Even the members of Vuong's group suspect each other. They are rich young men who spend their days partying and debauching but "each person takes care of themselves".

In episode 3, Dat and Cuong sat together to think about who the culprit was. Dat thought it was the girl that Vuong brought into the room, while Cuong guessed that the other member of the group "did it" because the relationship between Long (Binh An) and Vuong has been quite tense recently.

Cuong said to Dat: "Long also has a motive. Their relationship is very tense these days. Long and Vuong both hold the association's fund. Now they reported that the association's fund is missing and Vuong is dead. Think for me!"

While the two were discussing, the ambulance blared loudly. Cuong was confused and didn't know what was happening. Dat smiled at his friend: "Did you forget that I'm a mental patient? The car belongs to the old man's hospital, I'll take it and show it off." Even Cuong didn't think his friend would come up with this trick just to... go home.

What completely surprised the audience was Do Duy Nam's "dizzying" rapid change of expression when playing the role of "crazy" Dat. From a normal person, when seeing an ambulance approaching, his face suddenly became dull, he smiled foolishly, his mouth stuttered and continuously sang children's songs, needing a nurse to guide him when walking.

Many audiences praised the acting of "Nam Tao" Do Duy Nam: "Rich people have electricity in their heads", "Duy Nam acts well", "High from Maze to Black Pharma but still not high enough"...

This time, Do Duy Nam's character is heavily psychological (Photo: Character's Facebook).

Contacting Do Duy Nam, the actor happily shared with Dan Tri reporter: "After the episode, I also read the comments and saw that the audience said so. I am very happy that the audience still remembers my role as Thinh Ngua in the movie Me Cung .

The scene where the ambulance came to pick up Dat's character to go home was so special, if it was a supercar it would be too normal, right? His house has a hospital so Dat called an ambulance to pick him up to fully express the character's arrogance.

Or the scene where Dat uses a soldering iron to make a "hidden" DJ table reveals the danger of this character. He has a complex psychology like no other, and all these details were combined reasonably and skillfully by the director and screenwriter.

In addition to the extremely "cool" change in hair style of European and American rappers, the psychology of the character Dat "crazy" is also a big challenge for Do Duy Nam. However, he affirmed that after reading the script, the actor immediately accepted the role and just looked forward to the day the movie started filming because the role is so special.

With Dat Dien, Do Duy Nam read the script and studied it very carefully, even taking notes in a notebook to remember the character's psychology before and after each scene. According to him, this character has a multi-dimensional psychology, constantly changing emotions, sometimes high, sometimes crazy, sometimes calculating... and especially has many action scenes so the actors have to use a lot of energy.

He added: "The change in facial expression to become the mentally ill patient of Dat the Madman in episode 3 happened naturally, in the spirit that the directors wanted from me. I myself am not very handsome, so I am not afraid of being ugly.

I only applied a little bit of the acting techniques I learned at university to make the character more distinct and not lose the rhythm when interacting with my co-stars. In fact, I watched and studied mental patients to make my movements and actions as realistic as possible. Those are also the most basic things an actor needs to do when taking on a role."

Besides, the actor born in 1990 also revealed that the next developments of the film will open up more interesting and dramatic aspects of the character Dat "crazy". He commented that although filming is hard, being able to work and be creative is a great fortune for him.
