What will Nokia phones be like after HMD Global rebrands?

The announcement comes after HMD Global began transitioning Nokia's social media and website to HMD. According to the company, the HMD brand symbol stands for Human Mobile Devices, which means creating mobile devices with people at the center. For existing Nokia phone users, the company will continue to provide maintenance services and ongoing software updates for them as per its previous commitment.

HMD Global wants to put people at the center of its new business strategy

There are no further details about HMD Global’s strategy for developing its own branded phones. In a previous statement, sources said that the company has started creating two product lines called Pulse and Legend, with each line seeing the appearance of three new phones. These products will even be announced at the MWC 2024 technology event taking place in Barcelona (Spain) later this month and start shipping to customers next April.

With HMD Global giving up on the Nokia-branded phone business, many fans may feel disappointed. However, considering the previous development history, Nokia actually decided not to enter the mobile phone market after transferring its mobile product business to Microsoft. After that, HMD Global was granted the business license to continue bringing this branded product to the market.

After this adjustment, HMD Global will generally start to focus on promoting its own branded products. They still maintain the practice of cooperating with the Nokia brand to produce products, thereby increasing market growth opportunities.
