Prime Minister requests to remove difficulties and support businesses to restore production UKVFTA Agreement: Promoting trade and investment with British businesses

The Vietnam - Belarus Business Forum was organized by the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam) in coordination with the Belarusian National Center for Marketing and Price Research (under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus) and the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Vietnam.

The Vietnam - Belarus Business Forum is organized to contribute to enhancing the importance of the Vietnam International Trade Fair as a platform for international cooperation, deepening the friendly relations between Vietnam - Belarus and promoting bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

Attending the Forum, on the Vietnamese side, there were leaders of the Trade Promotion Agency and functional units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam; representatives of departments, branches and sectors of some neighboring provinces and cities, and representatives of associations, manufacturing and import-export enterprises in many localities of Vietnam. On the Belarusian side, there were the participation of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus - Yevgeny Shestakov, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Ho Chi Minh City, leaders of the National Center for Marketing and Price Research of Belarus and representatives of some agencies and associations of the Belarusian side.

Delegates attending the forum witnessed the signing ceremony of 3 Memorandums of Understanding between the Belarus National Center for Marketing and Price Research with the Trade Promotion Agency, the Ho Chi Minh City Trade and Investment Promotion Center and the Vietnam Business Club. Through the signing of these Memorandums of Understanding, businesses of both sides will have more basis to strengthen cooperation, thereby promoting the economic, trade and investment relations between Vietnam and Belarus to continue to develop in the coming time.

Within the framework of the forum, representatives of trade and investment promotion agencies and associations of both sides discussed the potential and international cooperation in the fields of industry, agriculture, science and technology, and food. In addition, about 70 manufacturing and import-export corporations in various fields of Vietnam and Belarus attended the B2B Trade Connection Session.

This is considered an important multi-party connection platform, creating conditions for businesses to grasp the diverse tastes of many markets, access solutions to promote the export of goods directly to foreign distribution networks, helping Vietnamese goods reach further in the international market. From there, participate more deeply in the supply chain and higher in the global value chain.

Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony

The Vietnam - Belarus Business Forum is an opportunity to open up new opportunities, continue to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese and Belarusian businesses to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of trade and investment, actively contributing to promoting the stable, balanced and sustainable development of Vietnam - Belarus economic - trade relations.

According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in the first 9 months of 2023, the two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Belarus reached 46.42 million USD (down 52% compared to the same period in 2022). Of which, exports reached 16.2 million USD (up 22% compared to the same period last year), imports from Belarus to Vietnam reached 30.3 million USD (down 64%).

Vietnam and Belarus have many complementary strengths. Vietnam exports to Belarus seafood, wooden products, textiles, footwear, rice, natural rubber, cashew nuts, peanuts, pepper, spices, tea, canned vegetables, pharmaceuticals, computers, etc.; imports milk and dairy products, fertilizers, machinery, equipment, auto parts, tractors, trucks, chemicals, etc.

Currently, Belarus has 3 investment projects in Vietnam with a total investment capital of 32.2 million USD. Vietnam has 1 investment project in Belarus with a total investment capital of 810 thousand USD.
