According to the latest cold air information in the North from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, currently (October 28), the cold air mass in the North (Northeast monsoon) continues to strengthen to the South. The entire North and Thanh Hoa - Nghe An region will have cold nights and early mornings, and cold weather in mountainous areas.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, currently, the cold air mass in the North (Northeast monsoon) continues to strengthen to the South. The North and Thanh Hoa - Nghe An area will have cold nights and early mornings, and the mountainous areas will be cold.

This cold front will affect the North from now until at least November 5. During the cold front, the lowest temperature in Hanoi will range from 19 to 20 degrees Celsius. In Lang Son and Cao Bang provinces, the lowest temperature will be around 14 to 15 degrees Celsius. The cold front will also cause strong winds and rain in the North. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

From the provinces of Ha Tinh to Thua Thien Hue, there will be heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall from the night of October 27 to the night of October 28 ranging from 150-250mm, some places over 400mm. There is a risk of localized heavy rain (over 100mm/3 hours). From Da Nang to Quang Ngai and Kon Tum, there will be heavy rain, some places have very heavy rain with common rainfall of 50-100mm, some places over 180mm.

Other areas have scattered showers and thunderstorms. In particular, the Southern Central Highlands and the South have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places having heavy rain, concentrated in the afternoon and evening.

The meteorological agency warns that in October and November, cold air will increase in frequency and intensity. By December, severe cold may appear over a wide area, especially in the northern mountainous areas, accompanied by frost and ice, greatly affecting people's lives.

Weather forecast for regions across the country in 10 days from (October 28 to November 6)

Weather forecast for the regions in the next 24 to 48 hours:

- Northern region and Thanh Hoa-Nghe An region: rain in some places; especially in the plains and coastal areas of the North, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An on the night of October 27 and the day of October 28, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places. Cold at night and early morning, cold in mountainous areas.

- Areas from Ha Tinh to Binh Dinh and the Northern Central Highlands: moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain; especially the area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai has heavy to very heavy rain. From October 29, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain.

- Other areas: scattered showers and thunderstorms; the Southern Central Highlands and the South have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing heavy rain (rain is concentrated in the afternoon and evening).

Thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

Weather forecast from the night of October 29 to November 6:

- Northern region and Thanh Hoa-Nghe An region: rain in some places, early morning fog in some places. Cold at night and early morning, cold in mountainous areas.

- Area from Ha Tinh to Da Nang: night of October 29-31 and period from November 3-6, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain.

- Other areas: scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places; in the Southern Central Highlands and the South from October 29-31 and around November 4-5, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening.

Thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
