Accordingly, the school will expand admission for candidates in group C (literature, history, geography - C00; literature, math, history - C03) to access many different professions at the school.

Based on the 2025 admission data, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade offers a variety of subject combinations to meet the needs of candidates. Some major subjects that frequently appear in admission combinations include: Mathematics (for admission to majors in the fields of information technology, accounting, finance and banking, and engineering); Literature (for admission to majors in the management and social sectors such as tourism and travel service management, economic law); English is a major subject in majors such as English language and Chinese language.

According to MSc. Son, for majors such as English and Chinese, English is a core subject because it reflects the candidate's language ability and ability to study in a foreign language environment. The English major requires candidates to have a solid foundation in English to easily access and develop advanced language skills, such as translation, international communication and cultural research. Similarly, the Chinese major also requires English because it is a bridge language that helps students grasp academic documents and expand international exchange opportunities.

For candidates who do not have a strong English foundation but still want to study English and Chinese language majors, they can choose to: Study additional English knowledge before entering university through extra classes, online courses or participating in English language centers; take advantage of the English preparatory program if the school offers it to improve basic English skills before entering the major; participate in English proficiency tests to re-evaluate the level and prepare for studying language majors.
