Today (July 2), Ho Chi Minh City National University carried out the final steps of the virtual screening process for early admission methods, including the method of considering scores from the 2024 capacity assessment exam.

Master Cu Xuan Tien, Head of Admissions and Student Affairs Department of the University of Economics and Law, said that this year the total number of candidates applying to the school based on their aptitude test results increased sharply by about 20% compared to last year. Of the total 68 schools participating in the online registration portal of Ho Chi Minh City National University this year, the University of Economics and Law leads in the number of admissions.

"Not only has the number of candidates increased sharply, but the score distribution of candidates participating in the admission process has also recorded higher results. Therefore, the benchmark score for this method will fluctuate a lot," Master Tien shared.

In addition to the benchmark scores for the competency assessment test, this afternoon the University of Economics and Law also announced the results of the remaining early admission methods, such as: priority for direct admission and priority for admission according to the regulations of Ho Chi Minh City National University, and the method of combining international certificates with high school academic results.

The highest standard score for the competency test is 1,035.

In 2023, candidates admitted to the University of Economics and Law by the competency assessment exam had an average admission score of 849, of which the majors in economics were 835 points, business was 872 points and law was 815 points. The major with the highest qualifying score was international business at 894.

Also last year, the University of Natural Sciences had 2 majors with a benchmark score of over 1,000 points for the Ho Chi Minh City National University Competency Assessment Exam. Specifically, computer science (advanced program) with 1,035 points and artificial intelligence with 1,001 points. Of which, the major with 1,035 points is the highest admission score ever in the entire Ho Chi Minh City National University block using this method.

Meanwhile, last year, the University of Health Sciences had the highest benchmark score of 934 for medicine, followed by dentistry with 902 points. The University of Information Technology has 5 majors with benchmark scores above 900, including: computer science, artificial intelligence, software engineering, information technology and data science. Of which, the highest benchmark score was up to 970/1,200 points of the exam...

Currently, some schools outside the Ho Chi Minh City National University system have announced conditional admission scores based on this competency assessment exam, such as: Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education... Notably, many majors of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education accept candidates who score 1,000/1,200 points on this exam.
