This evening, October 27, the leader of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Quang Tri Province Police said that the unit is carrying out rescue work, evacuating people from Vinh Long commune, Vinh Linh district out of the flooded area.

Due to the impact of storm No. 6, many villages in Vinh Long commune were severely flooded, with water in some places reaching about 2 - 2.5 meters into people's houses.
The road network is mostly submerged. The entire commune is without power, many places are completely isolated. The water level is still rising.
After receiving the report from the local authorities, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of the provincial police sent 21 officers and soldiers to organize rescue activities, moving 20 elderly people and children in Sa Nam village to Sa Bac village - a place with higher terrain.

“In Vinh Long commune, the water is rising, causing many houses and roads to be submerged, making movement very difficult and dangerous. Therefore, after completing the rescue in Sa Nam village, we continued to move vehicles and human resources to Phuc Lam village, Vinh Long commune to rescue and move people out of the flooded area. The rescue work is currently being urgently deployed,” said the leader of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of the provincial Public Security.
Chairman of Vinh Long Commune People's Committee Tran Quoc Luong said that the water level of Sa Lung River is rising, exceeding the 2020 flood peak by about 1 meter, causing hundreds of houses in the area to be deeply flooded. Currently, the authorities have evacuated about 600 households in the area to a safe area.
