Ho Chi Minh City National University cooperates to improve foreign language skills for lecturers and students

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, Vice President of VNU-HCM, together with representatives of ETS and IIG Vietnam performed the signing ceremony.

At the meeting, Mr. Doan Hong Nam, General Director of IIG Vietnam and Mr. Rohit Sharma, Representative of EST, agreed to consult and provide modern English training solutions combining online and direct methods for officers, civil servants, lecturers and students of VNU-HCM and its member units.

The solution framework uses the online English learning program English Discoveries. In addition, the two units will also provide English proficiency assessment services through international tests TOEIC or TOEFL ITP, TOEFL IBT of ETS.

Specifically, ETS is responsible for the quality of the English language program. The quality and legality of the English language test according to international standards are also committed to ensuring to optimize cooperation and support between the parties.

On the part of IIG Vietnam, the representative of this company committed to cooperate with VNU-HCM in the following contents: Organizing programs, competitions, and training conferences to improve knowledge and skills in using English according to international standards; planning and implementing cooperation activities each year; accompanying in the work of controlling English proficiency and input and output English proficiency; providing services and certificates for English proficiency assessment; researching, developing test questions and training a team of test development experts.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, Vice President of VNU-HCM, supported the cooperation proposal between the parties to improve English proficiency for officials, employees, lecturers and students of VNU-HCM and its member units. VNU-HCM will study appropriate cooperation methods with ETS and IIG Vietnam within the framework of the contents proposed at the meeting.
