Updating the progress of the construction of the XL01 package of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway project, the leader of the XL01 package management board said that after 3 months of implementation, the locality has handed over 9.6/11km of construction site, reaching 91%. Of which, the construction site is accessible for construction is 4km (reaching 36%).

Leaders of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee worked at package XL01 of Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway project.

Within the area of the handed over site, the joint venture contractor led by Deo Ca Group has mobilized personnel, vehicles and equipment, ready to construct locations where there are access roads.

The field office and living quarters for engineers and workers have also been built to take advantage of the dry and sunny weather to carry out construction.

It is expected that by March 2024, the contractor will start construction to open the Phoenix tunnel (1.7km long) - an important item affecting the progress of the entire project.

"The biggest problem in the current construction process of the package is that many locations are interspersed and inaccessible for construction because the progress of forest product harvesting is slower than the approved plan.

Along with that is 1.3km of natural forest land that has not yet been decided to be converted.

Sand resources are also in short supply. Some sand mines are planned for the project but have not been licensed for exploitation. Some other mines have not yet met the quality standards for construction," said Mr. Duong Dinh Manh, Director of the XL01 package management board.

Leaders of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee presented Spring gifts to encourage engineers and workers of package XL01 of Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway project.

To overcome existing difficulties, Mr. Manh said that at the recent working session, visit and New Year greetings of the Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee (February 22), the package's management board proposed that local authorities speed up site clearance work, prioritize reserves at commercial stone and sand mines for the package, and direct relevant departments to promptly announce prices and price indexes of raw materials according to market reality.

"Although this is the latest bid package to be approached, if the difficulties are resolved promptly, Deo Ca Group and the contractors in the consortium will aim to complete the project 6 months ahead of schedule (scheduled completion date is June 2027)," said Mr. Manh.

The representative of the contractor consortium also requested that Project Management Board 6 take the lead in developing and approving missing norms, amending and supplementing norms that are not suitable to reality, speeding up the confirmation and approval of changes arising during the implementation of the bid package, and creating conditions for temporary payment of some items to ensure capital for the construction contractor.

Package XL01 of Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway Project has a length of 11km. The total value of the package is 3,083 billion VND.

On the route, in addition to the road, the 1.7km long Phoenix tunnel also has 10 bridges.
