On the afternoon of February 20 in Hanoi, the Central Youth Union and the Council for the 2023 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award held a press conference to announce 20 outstanding nominees for the online voting round.
From 171 nominations in 10 fields, the Award Council voted by secret ballot to select 20 nominations in 9 fields (the field of state administrative management had no nominations) for the online voting round.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet - Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Vietnam Student Association - commented that entering its 28th year, the prestige of the Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces award has been increasingly enhanced in terms of quantity, quality and spread in the social community.
Evaluating the achievements of the 20 nominees introduced today, he said that many young faces not only achieved success domestically but also reached out to the region and the world. In particular, they also demonstrated their own responsibility, creating influence and spreading power in the social community.
Among them are many outstanding young faces in various fields. In the field of study, Pham Viet Hung won the International Mathematics Gold Medal for two consecutive years. With this achievement, Hung was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal in 2022 and the First Class Labor Medal in 2023.
Also in this field is Dinh Cao Son, who won a gold medal at the 2023 International Chemistry Olympiad, is also the contestant with the highest score in the Vietnam Chemistry Olympiad team and ranked 7th in the world.
In the Sports category, there are shooter Pham Quang Huy and sepak takraw athlete Tran Thi Ngoc Yen, who have won many domestic and international awards.
According to the organizers, the online voting round for the nominations for the Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award 2023 will take place from February 20 to February 26. The only voting method is at the address: www.tainangtrevietnam.vn.
The ceremony to honor the Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces of 2023 is expected to take place at the end of March, on the occasion of the founding anniversary of the Youth Union on March 26. In particular, in addition to the main events, right after the ceremony, the young faces will become inspirational ambassadors in activities for community life.
