By 2030, the Ministry of Transport will build two new airports in the Central region.

The Ministry of Transport has just issued a plan to develop transportation in a modern, synchronous direction, reducing costs and ensuring national defense and security in the North Central and Central Coast regions by 2030, with a vision to 2045.

The plan prioritizes the strong and synchronous development of national and international logistics systems associated with seaports, airports, international border gates, key economic corridors and inter-regional trade routes in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien - Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan.

Regarding aviation infrastructure, the Ministry of Transport will upgrade, renovate and improve the efficiency of the exploitation of 9 existing airports in the region. At the same time, it will invest in the construction of new Phan Thiet airport and Quang Tri airport.

Also during this period, the Ministry of Transport will coordinate and support relevant localities to invest in building aviation logistics centers associated with Da Nang and Chu Lai international airports; arrange logistics centers at airports with transport needs greater than 250,000 tons/year.

Logistics centers ensure warehouse conditions and connect appropriate means of transport to transport goods at Da Nang and Chu Lai airports.
