According to the Department of Construction, according to the decision of the City People's Committee in 2021 on the plan for the development of public parks and trees in the period of 2020-2025, the city set a target of increasing 150 hectares of public park land, equivalent to 0.65 square meters/person (calculated on a scale of 10 million people).
"To complete this target, the city needs to implement at least 54 projects with an estimated investment cost of more than VND9,000 billion. However, so far only 8 projects have been completed and submitted investment proposals. Of these 8 projects, the city has approved 4 projects with a cost of VND1,590 billion," the report stated.
Regarding the further goal, in the period of 2026-2030, Ho Chi Minh City strives to increase 10 hectares of public green space, park land to 1 square meter/person (based on a population of 11 million), and plant and renovate 30,000 trees.
