The table of expected inspection service prices is developed by the Registry Department and submitted to the Ministry of Transport and Finance.

The Vietnam Register has just sent a joint document to the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Finance requesting an adjustment to the collection fee for technical safety and environmental protection inspection services for motor vehicles in circulation.

Accordingly, to remove difficulties for inspection units and maintain stable operation of the motor vehicle inspection system, the Department of Registration has issued a document instructing units to prepare price plans and send them to the department.

As of May 19, the Registry Department has received 101 price options from 122 vehicle inspection centers. After reviewing, the Registry Department has eliminated 25 price options with declared costs that were too high compared to the previous year but did not have detailed explanations or the expected profit rate was set at a high level (20%).

On this basis, the Department of Vehicle Inspection has selected 76 options representing 96 vehicle inspection centers as the basis for proposing a joint plan for the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Finance to review and adjust inspection service prices.

Specifically, the average price plan is based on determining the output and total cost of inspection activities of the system of inspection units, and at the same time determining the provisional profit of 10% on the cost price and the VAT rate of 10% on the basis of the cost price plus expected profit to determine the inspection service price for cars with less than 10 seats to convert the inspection price between vehicle groups.

In addition, the Department of Registration proposed to add the price of vehicle registration for vehicles exempted from first-time inspection to 50,000 VND.

In case of reprinting the inspection stamp and inspection certificate in case the vehicle owner loses the stamp or inspection certificate or requests to re-circulate (after requesting to stop circulation), the fee will be 50% of the vehicle profile preparation fee.
