According to the reporter's investigation, some exam papers with exam code 119, Math subject of the 2024 high school graduation exam in Dak Lak showed signs of printing errors, more or less affecting the candidates. Many positions on the exam papers had errors in both Vietnamese writing style and mathematical notation. When reading the questions, candidates had to guess what the sentence meant, so it affected the exam results if they guessed wrongly or took a long time to guess.

"This is a national exam, if there are serious mistakes, it is unacceptable," said a parent whose child is taking the 2024 high school graduation exam.
Looking at the exam paper suspected of being erroneous posted on social media, a high school math teacher in Dak Lak said that if this was an official exam paper, the printing process would have been seriously flawed. Errors occurred in the wording, math symbols, and answers. This is very difficult for candidates, takes a lot of time to reason, and affects their psychology. In particular, it affects the rights of candidates using math for university admission.
"Some questions have errors in both the questions and the answers, wrong formulas, wrong nature, and missing data," this teacher commented.
A math expert, after reviewing the exam paper suspected of having errors, said that if this was an official exam paper, the error was in the printing process. The national exam papers were sent to the Departments of Education and Training in the form of CDs, and from the CD to the computer for printing, font errors or viruses could have occurred.
"The problem is that when printing, the department in charge of copying must check each question and only distribute it to the examination councils when the printed copy meets the standards. If there is an error, the copying of the exam violates the regulations," the expert added.
Regarding the suspicion that the 119 Math exam code was faulty , right after the exam ended at 4:00 p.m. on June 28, the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training held a press conference to provide information.
Mr. Pham Dang Khoa, Director of Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, said that regarding the Math exam in some examination rooms and examination sites, the exam papers of some candidates were found to be blurred, and some exam codes had some questions blurred (from 1 to 3 questions). Through preliminary review, some candidates were affected (about a few dozen candidates). Initial determination was that the Math exam papers were blurred due to a technical printing error.
Responding to the suspicion that the Math exam had a serious error, Mr. Pham Dang Khoa, Director of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, said that the exam was blurred due to a printing error.
Mr. Pham Dang Khoa added that the Department has reported to the National Examination Steering Committee to handle the matter in accordance with regulations, ensuring the rights of candidates. In particular, candidates whose exam papers are blurred will be given full marks for that question.
