On the afternoon of June 29, the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province held a meeting to summon all 33 examination site heads in 15 districts, towns and cities. The meeting was held internally.
Immediately after the meeting ended, VOV reporter had a quick conversation with Mr. Pham Dang Khoa, Director of Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, about the actual number of erroneous questions, which he said (in a conversation with reporters on the afternoon of June 28) that the department will continue to review to clarify.
However, after the internal meeting with the test site leaders this afternoon, Mr. Khoa said that the meeting had nothing to do with the Math exam error incident, but was to deploy the next tasks. He also did not answer the reporter's question about what the next task was.
Regarding the consideration of individual and collective responsibility for errors in printing and copying exam papers, Mr. Khoa said that this will be considered later. “It is not that we do not hold those people accountable. In the future, whoever did what, at which stage, there was an error, we must consider responsibility. That is the direction of the National Examination Steering Committee,” Mr. Khoa affirmed.
When the reporter asked for an official report from the Department or the provincial exam steering committee about the error in the exam to be sent to the Ministry of Education and Training or the National Exam Steering Committee, Mr. Khoa refused. “No. This is just a discussion about the same content as yesterday afternoon (at the press conference). That's all the discussion, the way to handle it is enough,” Mr. Khoa said.
According to the reporter, after the press conference yesterday afternoon (June 28), public opinion was very dissatisfied with the information of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training that the exam was only blurred, with only 1 to 3 errors, but according to the feedback of parents and candidates, the actual errors were more serious, with more errors and some exam papers had errors in both Vietnamese and mathematical symbols, affecting the exam results. Regarding this issue, Mr. Khoa did not answer but only repeated some information provided at the previous press conference.
The examination councils in Dak Lak are currently reviewing and comparing to determine the candidates affected by the faulty exam. The exact number of candidates affected has not yet been determined.
We will continue to inform about the Math exam error incident in Dak Lak.
