Since the beginning of March, district-level Power Companies in the province have organized customer conferences to implement electricity saving activities (commonly known as load shifting) in 2024. Attending these conferences are customers with electricity consumption of 1 million kWh/year or more.

At the conference organized by Hai Duong City Electricity, there were 30 customers participating, most of whom were large enterprises located in industrial parks and clusters in the area. At the conference, there were also many concerns from customers, such as the representative of Binh Dung Ice Cream Joint Stock Company. With the characteristics of production mainly in the summer and operating on a production line, the unit said that it was very difficult to ensure the implementation of the commitment to reduce electricity during peak hours. However, after being explained the reason for having to change production habits to save electricity during peak hours, all 30 customers agreed to sign the commitment to implement. Mr. Duong Quoc Huy, representative of Da Mai Joint Stock Company shared that this unit uses more than 400 kWh of electricity per month and the production machinery system is on a production line, so implementing electricity reduction and avoiding use during peak hours will cause some difficulties for the unit. To reduce electricity, the unit will develop a production plan during off-peak hours to implement during the 3 summer months...

In Cam Giang district, the group of customers in the industrial and construction sectors accounts for 80% of the district's total electricity consumption. The implementation of production conversion to save electricity requires great consensus from customers. Cam Giang Electricity is currently supplying electricity to about 120 large customers in both heavy and light industry with a consumption of over 1 million kWh/month. These enterprises mainly produce on assembly lines. Shifting the load means that many units have to rebuild production plans, arrange labor, change production habits, etc.

Vina Plastic Packaging Company Limited has proactively coordinated with Cam Giang Electricity to register the load chart and capacity chart for 12 months of 2024 in line with the actual situation and production needs of the unit. The company proactively changed working hours to avoid peak hours from 12:00 to 15:00 and from 21:00 to 24:00 in the months of May, June, and July. At the same time, the unit still implemented a 30% reduction as committed when the power grid system was overloaded. The company has a proactive backup generator system in case of emergency.

Hai Duong Electricity strengthens equipment inspection for customers with their own transformer stations

To protect the power grid system and ensure power supply to customers during the peak dry season, Hai Duong Power Company Limited has directed related units to work directly with each customer with an output of over 1 million kWh in the whole province. From there, grasp the load demand and production plan of customers to build a suitable electricity usage chart, both ensuring the production plan and reducing the load on the power grid system during peak hours. According to the request of the Northern Power Corporation, the expected capacity that needs to be reduced during the 12:00 - 15:00 and 21:00 - 24:00 hours of Hai Duong Power in the 3 peak months of May, June, July this year is 349 MW, equivalent to a rate of about 27%. Of which, May must reduce 95 MW, June must reduce 165 MW and July must reduce 89 MW.

The leader of Hai Duong Electricity One Member Co., Ltd. said that the unit has coordinated with enterprises and production units to build a typical load chart for the two years 2022 and 2023 of the enterprise. At the same time, consider the growth rate and production plan of customers in 2024, thereby determining the maximum capacity of customers during peak electricity hours from April to July and building a load chart according to the production plan of customers. Thereby, electricity units will work with customers to proactively monitor changes in customers' production hours and inform customers when the electricity usage exceeds the allocated threshold so that customers can adjust for the next period.

In addition, Hai Duong Electricity will inform customers when it has to adjust the electricity load due to a sudden increase in the national grid system. Units will increase the number of personnel on duty to ensure stable power supply for customers; proactively develop plans to fix defects, avoid incidents due to subjective causes affecting the power supply and prolonging the repair time...
